Ps3 failed to meet expectations but it was their fault for poor resource management and poor design of the console. It isn't a complete failure but it isn't any where near the level it is expected to suceed in.

It is just hard for cows to admit that xbox 360 is doing wonderful considering everyone thought the ps3 would dominate the xbox 360.

the PS2 is actually still a considerably current console as it still has the new games such as Guitar Hero 3 coming out for it while the gamecube and original Xbox are left in the dust. I'm not sure how that makes sense or what you're trying to prove?Very few people seriously believe the PS3 will fail, but it has become something of an albatross around Sony's neck. I'm sure 2008 will see a huge increase in PS3 sales but whether its enough to drag them out of third place I doubt it.

Just so you know, that 'just wait' joke is completely not funny, and in fact is fairly irritating. It's obvious the PS3 does need time, between 12-18 months from launch. It's like yelling at a newborn for not walking yet.

it did not lose anything. however it has put itself in a hard place to get out of. The games have not lived up to the hype that sony was making at e3 05. The system is a great movie player, and supports the most likely successor to bluray. But what really kills the PS3 is the image of being over priced. even at this stage when it is fairly priced for anyone. The system does not have a killer app yet and the wait and see is not generating sales. The PS3 has more problems than any fan would like. even though it is a wonderful system. MAYBE SONY NEEDS TO LEARN TO HUMBLE ITSELF AND NOT THINK PEOPLE OWE THEM SOMETHING. Maybe Sony needs to realize gamers are not all for the whole we say our games are better, so they are. what are you doing trying to compare net revenues? lol If you look at the gross margin comparison for wii and Ps3 it will be ridiculously slanted towards nintendo... because they are actually making money right nowwhile sony is losing money.. The stock prices tell it all. Net revenues dont produce game sales which = new exclusive IPs. Also, a large amount of non gamers purchased the Wii and PS3. Looking at game sales, its clear that xbox 360 has the most gamers of any console...the market segment that people want to make games for!

Sony needs to face it and cut their losses... by the time they get anything good going this gen, the gen will be over... MS will have a new platform in 3-4 years.... what is sony supposed to do, release another platform after they completely failed on PS3? No one will buy it as it will be obsolete.

Your just calculatting the price x amount and ur not including profits and %'s. So in other words, the WIi might make a 100$ profit on each sale while the ps3 loses 100$ on each sale... now who's the lucky winner?N0han

The PS3 has not failed yet and most likley won't, the failure has been the mediocre games. Sure I like Warhawk and HS and a couple of others but in comparason to the pile of great titles I have played the last 2 years on 360 the software is a joke.

That's not the point I was trying to get at...I know Sony is losing money on each console sold...I have already stated that in the OP. But when you look at it, fans are still spending money on the PS3. The same amount of money has been spent on the PS3 and the Wii...so the consumers are still investing in Sony prodcuts.

LOL sony is still king. why you think they wont let go of the ps2. You relize its ps2/ps3 vs 360 vs wii. When you think about what consoles are in stores and are still bring in revenues. MS still has yet to turn a single dollar on the Xbox franchise....the 360 might do it for them if they don't have any more big **** ups...like the $1b to fix broken consoles.

Nintendo is making a killing....they are worth over $80b right now....gettting lots of support...selling great....Nintendo doesn't care about technological advances anymore.

Sony is in last place....having taken a huge risk w/ blu-ray, they're doing everything they can to recoup losses...and hope that blu-ray becomes dominant....because if it does sony = win.

The 3rd party developers are just getting used to developing for the consoles right now...so this gen will be here for a long time.

PS3 already has a couple of killer apps....R:FOM is awesome....Ratchet and Clank:TOD = Great, Ninja Gaien Sigma = Great, Oblivion = AAA, and a couple of other games.

So yeah nothing major but contrary to popular belif the PS3 does actually have a number of great games.

Also since a baby doesn't learn to walk fully in its first year...the PS3 doesn't have anything killer its first year...if your using the baby analogy
