Remember when the DS first came out? Remember all the analyst who predicted the PSP to win. Remember all of this?

  • PSP has better graphics
  • PSP has more media functions
  • PSP has a better format
  • DS is a gimmick
  • Touch Screens are a gimmick
  • DS is a fad
  • PSP will bring gaming out of the handheld ghetto


...Well I guess a lot of people were wrong weren't they? Why anybody ever doubted Nintendo with a handheld is beyond my belief. I mean the sun rises and sets doesn't it? Now don't get me wrong the PSP is a success too but how could people even fathom the dream of it winning? I'm not into handhelds but have you seen the grave of handheld systems that have been slaughtered at the hands of Nintendo? It ain't pretty I'll tell you that much.

I had a PSP first and I got rid of it about two months later, then I got a DS, and I won't be getting rid of it anytime soon.

I doubted the DS but now it's my favorite platform. I also doubted the Wii... it's turning out better than I expected too but it has yet to prove itself. If it does I will be the first to admit I was wrong about it and I already have to some extent.

any analyst worth his salt could of told you the psp would fail

First - price (quite high compared to the competition,  I know some people will say the ipods expensive but the ipod is a completely different device not relient on massive sales to move software)

2nd - long load times (nobody wants that in a handheld)

3rd - crappy media formats (WTF now I have to rebuy my DVDs at a higher price to have them be portable, could you imagine if apple made you rebuy your cd collection on itunes)

4th - low battery life (this kills just about any success for a portable device)


The psp isn't terrible but it's not a very practicle portable device.

I think it's safe to say that the PSP was a failure and a MAJOR disappointment... I was gonna buy one... But I was smart and waited. Now I love my DS more than my Gamecube... Then again, I didn't like my Gamecube much.

Yeah, I got a PSP the first month it came out, but with the little memory it came (since I intended to use it for a lot of music), I didn't feel like it was worth it so I took it back. But I kind of want to pick it up now with the 1gb of memory that comes with it and the games that are out now are good.

The Neo Geo Pocket was kinda awesome imo, and yes it is safe to say that the DS haters have been owned.

When I first saw my friend play the DS I really hated it. I went on and on about the two screens was stupid, blah blah...oh wait, the games are awesome. Touch screen is cool.

I never did like the PSP, but the DS does indeed own.
