So cows, are reviewers biased against Formula 1 as well?

Yeah, I was expecting more out of that game. Looked good, I guess it didnt turn out good though.

GT5 is in the works, but we haven't seen anything of it.

The game is beautiful. F1 racing doesnt have a large fan base in America though. I am no Cow but as a PS3 owner, I think the score is ok. I am a huge F1 fan so I give it a 8.1, but whatever. If you dont own a PS3, and dont plan on getting one, what do you care what it scored? I think it is the best racer out so far this gen. Definately the most realistic.

The bias seems to be more against F1 style racing than the game itself.   Think of it as Arena Football or a College Baseball game.  You can't polish a turd.

But the point remains: Cows don't need F1, they have Gran Turismo.

The criticisms of the flaws in this game are pretty valid. Career mode is out of wack, and the niche market style of F1 just doesn't translate well into a mainstream game. Anyways, people who hype this game would buy it because it's F1, not because it's a good game.

The graphics are near flawless, the racing is as true to F1 as any game has ever hoped to get. It's a full fledged game with online play.

I saw nothing in any review that is deserving of 7.1, except for the fact that it is for hardcore F1 fans only. If that's who the game was designed for, then for them it's a 10.

As for the rest of the NASCAR loving, beer drinking, cheesebuger inhaling, crash happy, "if it's hard it's not worth doing" Americans... it's not a highly recomendable title. And 7.1 is exactly what it needed to get to keep casual racing fans from picking it up.

But don't waste your time posting about how it flopped, no one expected it to be the GT.

I do know that GTHD is Gran Turismo, but I had my doubts at this point as to whether the canned (and formerly ludicrously expensive) and now-demo racer would be considered substantial enough to challenge an Xbox 360 heavyweight like Forza 2.

When I said "Gran Turismo" in my post, I am referring to the franchise.

Yeah I know I was just messin with ya. 

Anyway I dont think GTHD being downloadable was a bad idea, was actually good for the cows since it was just a port almost, but they do have to wait a bit longer for the next real GT game.

I don't think so, its a really good game and thats why its getting good reviews. I don't think it was nearly hyped as much as GT:HD. Which is a free download that looks better forza 2 and PGR3, and plays better than PGR3. But i guess you make a point, Sony fans are saying alot of stuff regarding GS being biased. But if you look at it this way everyone has bias.

I typed this reply in another thread...

I don't follow F1, but I do love racing games that provide challenges....and this game does (love the demo)....I can't wait to play it online.... this game was made for F1 fans and fans who enjoy different types of Racing games (me)......

Playstation games have always catered to different types of genres...(like MS is did with Rockstar Tennis)

These types of games should get reviewed by two different types of reviewers....

1. A fan of the genre

2. a regular gamer who can let non F1(or what ever genre) gamers know about how the game appeals

I remember when I first got my PSone, one of the demos was F1 and it was fun........

They aren't biased reviews, but the IGN reivewer just sucked at the game. His main complaint was that the game was too realistic and technical. Isn't that what F1 racing is about? I dont know, I wasn't expecting great reviews but this game is more for people who like F1 and are willing to practice a while before being great at it. The only thing I don't like, is that they all say the graphics are gorgeous, etc. but then they factor in graphics at like 7's or 8's.

There's a GamePro review which gave it 5/5. I guess this guy knew what he was getting into.

Either way, I'm getting it today because I'm one of the few that likes F1 games more than other racing games.
