I'm interested, but won't be biting till I see gameplay and reviews. It being a Windows 10 Store exclusive doesn't help my case :(

Almost all of the PC audience Microsoft had abandoned them when they sold out to make console shite for 15 years.

I have no trust in almost all large corporations to make anything of quality any more.

I am interested in this and Warcraft III: Reforged.

very curious to see this. Relic was my favorite developer for a long time but DoW 3 was really disappointing and it seems like a lot of the talent left for Black Isle to work on Homeworld.

When they showed AoEII DE at E3 Xbox conference i was hyped. Was my childhood game. Only to find out it was not coming to Xbox... lol. Why they show PC exclusives at Xbox events...

Wish AoE was on Xbox with mouse support. Not gonna get back into PC gaming just for one game.

They had an entire conference dedicated to age of empires, seperately, to make sure it was clear it was a pc franchise.

Yeah MS are morons, they showed PC games at their Xbox conference, it doesn't get much dumber than that.

@with_teeth26: Yes, Dawn of War III was a misstep, I really don't know why they went with MOBA when Relic is king of RTS games (bigger audience I guess - but that failed). More than that I couldn't enjoy the multiplayer because it was horribly unbalanced. The few matches that were balanced were fun however.

Still, there's no one I'd rather see the Age of Empires franchise with than Relic.

And I hope the other Age of Empires teams start work on an Age of Mythology 2.

I'm skeptical at best as the last game they tried was a disaster, plus original team that made 2 so good is long gone.

So far they've been doing an alright job of giving the brand some care and attention, albeit it in lower budget less risky form.

I respect them for trying to innovate. each entry in the Dawn of War series was insanely different from the previous one.

it worked with DoW 2 but not with 3. I really missed the CoH style mechanics like cover and destruction physics. didn't help that the campaign was really boring and a slog to get through. its a shame because I loved DoW 2, that game + its expansions is one of my most played games (only CoH2 beats it out in that regard).

hopefully just a blip and they go back to being awesome with AoE IV

I love its style & world, but the gameplay reminds me of Sea of Thieves: this co-op, work together, type affair.

Having this game look 'right' is a pretty big milestone when you are taking over this huge franchise from another (legendary) developer.

Anyway, I can't watch these XO events/Inside Xbox shows anymore. They're too painful & full of bloat. Unless it's a Nintendo Direct-style fast paced show, I'll just watch the highlights after.

Yeah, what they actually showed was very good... but it's just the whole presentation. The screaming crowd that cheers at everything that is said and the hosts repeatedly saying "are you excited?!?!", and the PR speak... it's just too much. The actual XO events are good, but just pre-record a Direct style video & cut out the bullsh*t.
