Wondering if anybody else got a Super NT?
Looks great at 1080p on the big screen.

Yeah I got mine today. UPS said it was out for delivery yesterday but it never came. I was getting nervous thinking the worst. It's been sitting in a cold truck all day so I figured I'd wait until tomorrow to try it out. I have about 80 snes games. I was using a framemeister but I hate having clutter from the wires and stuff. Now I wish they would do the same thing for the Genesis.
whats that bro?
It's SNES parts in a high end system, with an HDMI mod. Highest quality SNES you can get, with no emulation.
Edit: I'm probably explaining this wrong.

Here is a good review of it.

that's not what it is, though it is made to play SNES cartridges. it uses a FPGA to simulate the original hardware thus removing any latency and ideally being compatible with the whole SNES library
I'm not going to get it. I prefer to play on an authentic SNES through the Framemeister. Nothing beats the experience of playing on the real deal.

Yeah, I edited my post. I remember the original NT's had original parts.
The Super NT looks awesome. I'm holding off on getting one since I have a SNES/OSSC/SD2SNES combo that works for now.
I’d love to get this however I don’t have any of my SNES games left, which makes me sad, and it would likely be pretty expensive trying to buy many of the ones that I want again. I don’t think that I’m really ready right now to try and do that. It is a very tempting thought however so who knows.
@Archangel3371: unofficial jail break was released that would help get around that for non-special chip games ;)
@n64dd: I miss read his post. In thought he meant he was using an original SNES.
Yeah i have a mini and it’s great imo. Very ‘flexible’ if you know what I mean without breaking any rules!

Didn't think you'd be the type to post a Polygon review...
By the way, is there any legality issue over it? Since it's essentially competing with (and is more accurate than) Nintendo's own SNES Classic, not sure if Nintendo would be happy about it.

Don't think they'd really have a case to make

I'm iffy about polygon. They're a little over dramatic. The review is informative though. I think in either that or the DF video posted they talked about how some of the copyrights don't apply anymore.
Nintendo fans sure like to re-buy their games and purchasing of useless hardware.
I already own an insane catalogue of SNES games. I wanna play them at the best quality. I don't think i've ever seen you say something positive about a game or anything in SW.
Smile more!
@Pedro: You are so right. Nintendo fanboys are foaming at the mouth saving all their money to buy....get this.... “cardboard”. LMAO
I look forward to the fanboys on here posting threads about spending $200 on some cardboard. Oh god, the Nintendo fanboys are a special kind of human.

What does that have to do with this thread? Troll somewhere else.
or we could just use emulators and a cheap USB snes controller....
orrr.... an Xbox controller, because Nostalgia is s*it
@n64dd: Not trolling bro. Telling the truth.
And before you get madder at me, I still own my original SNES. Don’t need this console.
I have made it very clear that I loved the NES to GameCube and Nintendo’s handhelds.
I have hated the Wii/Wii u/switch. Worst consoles ever.
I see no point in buying this product. I prefer the original as it was meant to be played....or rather my SNES sits in the basement locked up because I have no desire to replay 90’s games lol
Sure it looks nice but for the price one can go full on nostalgia and get an actual SNES (various inclinations) in excellent condition.
@Solaryellow: I think you missed the point of it.
What is the point besides being able to play a good portion of SNES carts in a higher resolution on a modern non crt television?

It's not meant for new TVs.

We could also drink water by using spoons.
That implies Emulation is somehow inferior or far more tedious than hooking up a modded ancient device with a crap controller?
no mate... just no

Emulation is inferior to the real thing.
I remember when I made the mistake of selling all of my old consoles because I thought that it would be more convenient for me to just use emulation to play my old games. Well, it was more convenient, but it also made me stop enjoying my old games. For a while, I could not figure out why I just was not having fun anymore with these old games that I used to love. Then I started to re-acquire all of my old consoles again and once I was playing on the authentic hardware again, I started having fun with these games again. On an emulator, I would play these old games for about 10 minutes and get bored, but on the real hardware, I could play these same games for hours without getting bored.
I understand now that no emulator can reproduce the same experience that you get from playing a game on the original hardware, the way it was designed to be played.
What would you prefer, having an authentic painting of a great piece of artwork or having a poster of that same painting? The poster is obviously not going to give you the same enjoyment as the real deal. That's the kind of difference between playing on the real deal and playing on an emulator.
