Thats funny because correct me if im wrong but hasn't SM and especially GOW been out much longer and on a system with a massive sales gap.

I just wonder what Super Smash Bros. Ultimate would have placed if it’s digital sales were also included. Anyway it’s nice to see it do well because it really is an excellent game. I’m also happy to see that Monster Hunter World made the top ten. I had a terrific time with that game and am very much looking forward to the upcoming dlc.

Look at closely bro. It's the annual sales figure, not monthly. A game released in the first week of December outsold the two Playstation blockbusters which released 5 months or much earlier. That's something.

When an entire userbase is waiting on a single game to make their year worth it, it helps to end the year with a bang.

I would say it's probably more due to how much more accessible a game like Mario is vs a game like Spiderman or of God of War. Everyone can play mature but the other games are typically bought and played by older gamers. Regardless, it still sold pretty well in that time frame.

Smash just isn't as satisfying to watch on YouTube.

Nintendo exclusives sell and Smash is usually one of the best. Cant deny that is actually an impressive performance from GOW and especially Spider Man on NPD.

I believe Spider Man was. Don't worry it does not matter on NPD. Technically that actually hurts it lol. They go by revenue total dollar sale bundles are not counted.

Makes sense really. God of War release in April of 2018, Marvel's Spider-Man release in September of 2018, & finally, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate release in December of 2018. Totally well deserve on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Incredibly impressive numbers for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate no matter how you slice it. The game came out basically at the very end of the year and on a platform that’s only about a third of the size as the PS4. Very impressive, very impressive indeed.
