SJW ruined Battlefield 5? AngryJoe in trouble for defending women

There is a big controversy going around: BFV preorders are 85% behind COD: BlackOps 4.

AngyJoe, in one of his recent videos, had blamed low BF pre-orders on misogynists and had received a big backlash from his own fans, his video downvoted to hell.

After the backlash, AngryJoe had tried to back down on his previous video's statements, but still had got a huge amount of downvotes

In his third video, AngryJoe actually jumps on Anti-EA and anti-SJW hate wagon LOL

Hilarious youtube drama. Enjoy.

Who the frag cares? BF5 pre-orders are down because the game is nothing new and just the more of the same old.

Not because of a few videos showed on E3 with women.

I think that the anti-SJW backlash with Battlefield V is just a very vocal minority. I think that the biggest problems with Battlefield V is that it has become buried in a very packed period of game releases, poor marketing, and perhaps even their numbering convention of the games.

As for Joe, I couldn't care any less. He is just an angry annoying casual gamer.

Or maybe you just dont pre-order and buy the game at launch or few days/weeks later.

Also, isnt the Call of duty beta tied to pre-ordering? Think people are getting a bit dramatic over nothing.

EA has Origin Access and EA Access, no incentive to pre-order the game since you'll have access to play it and can buy it once your trial time is up.

Remove the female aspect, it would still be a pretty shitty trailer. The game footage shown looked more of the same. And after Battlefront 2 which reached government awareness of shadinesses, it's probably a culmination of different factors.

It's nice to see sjw's touting it cry though. Very kek.

I love how Joe tries to defend the low pre-orders with the release date excuse. The pre-orders are low because EA told people "if they don't like it don't buy it" why he doesn't want to accept that simple fact? Not to mention, some gamers are getting wiser to NOT pre-order at all when you should be waiting for reviews anyways. He's not wrong. The SJW thing has little nothing to do with the low sales. Amusing that hardcore Anti-SJWs actually think they did this lol.

Why would I pre-order BFV when I have EA Origin? Think about that Joe.

Also a lot of people were upset about the singleplayer being M.I.A. so good job of standing behind what you want people !

But then of course Black Ops seems to be a popular franchise, and Treyarch is certainly the less shitty of the three.

@texasgoldrush: Well maybe not feminist overreactions but a part of the current feminist discourse is already getting out of hand IMO. It's becoming too exclusive and even sexist which can undermine the whole movement, distract from real issues and give extreme right wing narratives a big push. Part of the current feminist discourse is disturbingly similar to conservative puritanism and tries to police morality which can turn into a witch hunt and is a precursor to fascist tendencies.

Exactly. I'm concerned about exactly that. And the polarization. Radical right and left are becoming more and more comparable and prevalent in the media as it polarizes. Maybe we're not there yet, but it's not necessarily getting better.

This is why I'm concerned about echo chambers and other ways in which discourse is denied and politically filtered. We could use more nuance, critique and self-reflection. Team-versus-team or all-or-nothing mentalities don't model the reality of the situation.

I'm 100% in favor of inclusion of all identities in society. People can decide to be whatever the hell they want to be freely and others should respect that. And that's where I disagree with a portion of the left that demonizes more traditional roles. If you're going to be inclusive don't try to tell others their lifestyle is worse than yours, that's the opposite of being inclusive.

I have some friends in gender studies and humanities, most of them are pretty reasonable. But within this group I have found a great deal of intolerance bordering towards hate and moralistic impositions. For example I met a girl who would only use inclusive language while we talked, a thing I have 0 problems with. It's her mouth, her decision. But then she complains and corrects others constantly. If your ideology is making you police something as language on others then you're already bordering dangerous territory. It's no different from the right pretending to proclaim how others should live their lives and micromanaging their sex practices. I was discussing with this same girl about going to a nudity friendly place here in Europe because I like people being fine with their bodies and showing them, it can be a very liberating experience. She said she liked that women can be naked without guys pervertly looking at them but that she still doesn't like it because there are too many penises there. And she said that with almost a repulsive expression on her face. So she basically has linked the part of a body of a whole group of people to her distaste towards the patriarchy. It is ok to have a distaste towards the patriarchy seeing it as an abstract ideological. cultural and economic force and fighting to change it but it is another thing to link that to the sexual organ of a particular group of people. Then you're condemning people for something they have no way to control and just because of how they were born which is awfully similar to what the religious right does with gays or transgenders.

Basically my mantra is live and let live. People can call it simplistic sometimes but it is a good jumpstart to deal with issues such as this. I have no business telling others how to dress, eat, have sex, make their video games or even buy their video games. I can suggest and let them know why I don't choose to do that or why I think their decisions are not good in my view. I'm even in favor of making fun of everything in a way as long as you're brave enough to also make fun of yourself. But to see them repulsively or try to change their decisions by force is another story. And this is how fascist tendencies start, when your world view suddenly becomes a moralist code to be imposed and by which you judge and condemn everyone.

It's so much easier for my psyche to ignore this kind of bullshit. So I will.

I'll also gladly buy a Battlefield game again if they ever go back to what made it good. If there are women or no women, I don't give a single piece of shit. I want a fun non dumbed down BF game. I've got a feeling that that's way too much to ask for from today's DICE though. They'd have to stop doing console versions. And even then, do they even have people left at the studio who knows what made the older BF games a hundred times better than the CoD-ified ones? Doubt it.

I mean, both extreme sides of this topic are wrong.

BFV isn’t failing because of inclusion, it’s failing because it looks dopey and stupid with robot arms.

BFV isn’t failing because of white misogynists, it’s failing because it looks dopey and stupid with robot arms.

I’m sure people will still play it. BF1 looked great and was fun but got old incredibly fast. The formula is just getting a bit stale for me.
