Should I buy Resident Evil 2/Kingdom Hearts 3 for $40 a piece?

I've seen several posters in the Facebook marketplace selling these games for $40 a piece already. I have a few I could buy from today.

Does System Wars think either title is worth $40? I've been hearing from people that RE2 is more of a rental and is really short but I definitely want it. Also not a huge KH fan and never finished any of the previous games but $40 seems like a steal there too.

Don't buy RE2, terrible game. You can't shoot lamp in game like you can in Metro Exodus best game of the generation. Not garbage like Cyberpunk. And Kingdom Hearts is for kids game not for hardcore alpha gamers like me.

I'm more interested in KH3 and if you receive a quality game with Disney franchises being the focal point.

I can't speak for KH3 (though $40 is a solid price,) but RE2 is well worth that. I have currently put 20 hours into the game... Just less than 5 hours per character, in which I restarted Leon's campaign, and i'm currently playing through Claire's second run.

KH3 is amazing just for the presentation alone. I'm waiting on Resident Evil 2. I couldn't justify $60 for a short game with limited replay value. Yes, you can replay it, but I don't think it's enough unless you're a huge fan.

If you haven’t ever played KH before, avoid KH3. There is something laudable in the earlier games, but the latest is so shoddy it will both frustrate and discourage newcomers.

Resident Evil 2 is the finest survival horror game made with 20-40 hours of content.

Kingdom Of Hearts is an anime hero hanging around goofy.

The choice is obvious.

Haven’t played either but people are talking about RE2 as a GOTY contender.

Despite loving Disney, I will never play KH3. Everything I’ve read makes it seem like it’s a game only the hardcore fans can fully appreciate. Everyone else will be completely lost to what is going on.

My friend sent me an endgame screenshot of just under 2 hours but I think it was for one of Claire's sections only.

So far, I'm 17 hours into KH3 and it is such a fun game to play. The hack and slash is amazing, with so many cool moves. Even the annoying Gummy Ship from KH1 and KH2 is fun to play here. But like others said, if you didn't play the other games you'll understand nothing from the story (which already was a mess in the other games). But for 40$? Buy it for sure.

I can't speak for RE2 because I didn't buy it yet, but I plan to on my next income.

As with most games you can speedrun it, it's a specific in-game reward. Average joe 6-8 hours. Longer if you're taking your time in hardcore. It's designed for multiple play-throughs as well.

A took me 12 and B took me 8.

I just finished Claire's 2nd run, and witnessed the "True Ending..." I still have to play Leon's 2nd run, plus a Hardcore run-through for both. Then there's 4th Survivor and Tofu (though I probably won't bother with Tofu mode.)

Well, that's wrong. There's the entire sewer section, as well as the orphanage on Claire's playthrough.

new Metro will have 4 different seasons and also locations which are sandbox type and you can explore, and game will be longer than entire RE2 and all scenrio combine.

It's not. You entirely leave the RPD station to get to the sewers (through the Parking Garage.) You can double back to the Police station via a shortcut, but it is an entirely separate section. Furthermore, when Claire leaves, she goes to the Orphanage to rescue Sherry from the Police Chief. Are you sure you've played the game?

Haha, in all fairness i'm a big-bitch and saved 2 slots every time I hit a typewriter (holdover from corrupted saves back in the day.) So I would have used around 45 or so on a single slot. Obviously, Hardcore is gonna be entirely different. That being said, I agree that the rating should be stricter, and not based solely on time. I've played Leon and Claire (1st) and Claire (2nd) and cleared them all between 4 and 5 hours.

People asking if they should buy a game at a discounted price when they are generally worth full price it's beyond me.

Instead, ask if you should buy them at all. Then look to see if you even have the time to invest in said games.

As for the thread, both are solid titles. I'd pass on Kingdom Hearts III though since you haven't even beaten any of the previous titles; not sure what makes you think you'll beat this one...lol.

I'd also pass on Resident Evil 2. While it's a great game; it is short in length and seems you're better off just renting the game from Redbox or maybe find a used copy from Gamestop and beat the game within 7 days and just return it.

RE2, fo sho. But if youre not a fan of backtracking, survival horror and puzzles, it's not. The game isn't very casual friendly tbh. But if youre a fan, 40 bucks for the game is super sweet. I got the game for around 23 bucks for the deluxe edition due to regional pricing, and it couldn't even be more worth it for the price. Plus, free DLCs, granted, they should have been in the game to begin with. But I say it's well worth the price.

Can't speak for KH3, but Dunkey seems to hate it.

Then why are you even thinking about it? It should be a hard pass for you. Don't be a tool. Don't get a game just because everyone is excited about it. Those games look terrible to me. A completely tasteless crossover that should have never been. Like terrible fan fiction that was made official. I like old Disney. I like old anime. This thing fucking sucks.

Kh3 is a beautiful game if you like bright colors, I'm a fan of the series and I'm really enjoying 3, but dont expect to know whats going on at all, its hard to follow even for fans, but if your interested in jumping into a action rpg blind and dont mind not understanding the story ( I love the series and dont care about the story) its a damn fun game. Great presentation in the combat.
