I'm sure I'm the biggest Shenmue fan evar! 110millionOBJECTION! Do you own Shenmue 1 and 2 on Dreamcast AND Shenmue 2 on Xbox? Have you beaten all of them six or more times each? If you answered "no" to any of those questions then you simply can't be that which you claim. :)
I've never played yakuza... so can't sayMario2007me either. i only played the demo for the last on ps3. but shenmue is hard to beat by any game to me. so i voted for it
Yakuza games are seriously becoming popular now. not only in Japan but also outside of Japan. didnt Sega just annouce a 5th Yakuza a while ago? Yakuza 4 is already coming to the west next year
Give me Shenmue 3 God damn it, i am dying for what will happen next, how could they make a game in 4 chapters ( from wut i heard) and stop at the 2nd one !!!!!
Yakuza games look great, but Sega has to complete the Shenmue franchise, there are alot of yazkuza games now.
I know some people that prefer Yakuza and I can understand why, but I still have to say Shenmue. Not because of the story--I found the whole medallion thing to be a bit of a bore--but because of what both of these series tried to accomplish in an interactive environment. That to me is where Shenmue wins.
When you play Shenmue you feel a deeper attachment to the characters and the environment around you, the world feels more alive, in Yakuza I find that this is not the case. In Yakuza you walk around a city collecting locker keys(wth?) and fight random strangers in a 5 minute break, sure there is a few minigame sequences but it's just not enough to connect the player to this virtual world on a deeper level, wich imo Shenmue does.
Bear in mind that I've only finished Yakuza 1 and 2, I don't know about the others.
Shenmue.
Fell in love with the game when I played it for the first time. Wish they would finish the story. I want to know what happens on Hazuki's quest to avenge his father.
What in the hell does Onimusha have to do with either of these games?not interested in either games. i like fantasy games and would prefer omnimusha

all these games are very Japanese oriented. Shenmue and Yakuza are modern-ish whilst omnimusha is more fantasy.
do you have a problem with that my friend?
Well, I remember playing Shenmue 2 on the xbox and while it was an interesting concept, it was oh so flawed and ultimately just was'nt that fun to play....
So I vote Yakuza.

If you answered "no" to any of those questions then you simply can't be that which you claim. :) I do own all 3, i've beaten the first one at least that many times, i beat the 2nd one twice before my dreamcast started to become finicky, never actually went through the XBOX one because it wasn't feeling the same. :P[QUOTE="110million"]I'm sure I'm the biggest Shenmue fan evar! That and it lacks the tons of unnecessary stuff, which still impresses me nowadays about shenmue but I'm not the type to sit and look in every single cabinet lolas a big yakuza fan i have to admit Shenmue is better but still Yakuza is great too but it lacks Shenmue huge production value.
Kashiwaba
havent played either so can say rather I hate them or like them. though I do wondering why sega is not interesting in doing shemune III. I mean people been asking for this along time, so i was hoping sega would listern to to fans of the series
