Why is SR2 being compared to GTA4?

SR2 looks like complete trash.

gta IV will only be topped bu another gta. Some people don't realize how good that game is. Saints row 2 will suck compared the gta like mercenaries 2 did.15strong

I think not.

After San Andreas, GTA4 took the series into one direction, and Saints Row is taking it in another direction. No disrespect to Rockstar but it looks like the copy has done it better than the original.

GTA4 was a great game but it seems like that GTA soul in the last gen games was put aside in favour of realism. GTA was a crazy thrill ride, with an exaggerated view of society. That's Saint's Row now

I'm getting the game, but it's sick how Nintendo screenshots are flamed for using HD resolution and then Saints Row uses promotional screenshots outside of Xbox360's resolution capabilities.

Just sick.

I get what you're saying and I agree with that. But that's not the subject in this thread;)

SR2 will be fun, im buying it for the multi on PC

GTA IV's car and other vehicle handling are too realistic to be fun.. so im glad SR2 is taking the Arcade route to feel of the vehicles

the game is going to be really fun, shame about it only having just over 40 missions but the game will rule.

50+ player online on PC = rawk

While I know the production values on SR2 won't be on par with GTAIV.... I'm almost certain SR2 will be more fun.... and thats what matters most, imo.

GTAIV was a complete let-down, I can't believe it scored a 10, what a joke. And not a funny joke either.... a terrible, crawl into my shower with my clothes on and try to wash away the dirtiness kinda joke.

In all fairness, GTAIV was trash too :P

Comparing SR2 to GTA is kinda a bad idea. That just opens the door to bashing when it gets a lower score.Lionheart08

Your right Grand theft auto 4 is a great game, BUT Saints row 2 is going to be better. Well, gta 4 was missing some features I wanted, which sucked. No more blowing ppl heads off lol. no chainsaw which sucks. Saints row 2 is getting a chainsaw. The online is really fun for gta 4. online is the only thing making me keep gta 4. The story was good, but i will only play the story again if ps3 allows trophies for it. Saints row lets you create your own character, all games should do that. and NO PEOPLE saints row did NOT copy off of gta series. if anything copied, it's gta 4. gta 4 got the cell phone idea from saints row and the online from saints row. Look, I like both games, but i hate when people compare them. they say how saints row sucks and they never played the game. I beat the first saints row on 360 and it had a great story to it. taking over gangs is fun. I really liked that zombie lyn girl too. she used to eat the people for me lol. I am looking forward to saints row 2. I still like gta 4 and i plan on keeping it. but i want saints row 2 too. People who dont like it, either never played saints row, or just don't know what a fun game is. come on, creating your own cribs, and your own character, demolition derbys zombies, how can you not buy saints row 2? The vehicles do look good by the way LOL!

Saints Row II wasnt design to directly compete with GTA. Yes the sandbox gamestyles the same but SRII is supposed to be extremely outlandish and over the top. The game should still be recieved well and taken on its own merits.dark_k
