Ryse vs. The Order. Which has the best graphics ?

I didn't think Ryse looked all that impressive. It has nice lighting and textures, but that doesn't mean it's the most enjoyable to look at.

They are both top tier. Now the real question is. Which one has the better gameplay?

I've also seen stuff from Alien Isolation that compares to both, if anyone has images of it to post.

@JangoWuzHere I think Ryse can look lifelike at times. Part of that is on your settings though. Like using temporal AA, it blurs everything. The way to go is supersampling, it'll get you the best detail.

Are talking about art style or graphics? because Ryse on xbone looks like a blurriness simulator, nowhere near does it look like the picture in 'character model'. The Order is the best looking console game ever shown BUT it'll be a shitty game at the end.

The Order 1886 isn't out yet, it could still watchdogs it.

lol. Aspects of that game do look good, but I remember getting to that blonde womans house and thinking "wtf uncharted3 looks better than this."

The E3 mod on PC made a difference, but it still wasn't the same as the E3 demo we seen.

I doubt it was even the same engine. If there is one good thing that has come out of all this graphics nitpicking it is that I think from this point on developers will show the actual game running on native hardware.

...there will always be supersampling involved though. I never blame devs for that. Presenting something on a huge projected screen needs to be presentable, afterall.

The Order has film grain but Ryse does not have. Ryse has details, The order is blurry. So ryse wins

The Order looks better from what I've seen... But we should always be careful with pre-release footage.

Also, I don't like it cutting off so much of the screen. I'm sure I'll get sick of that after an hour of play. 21:9 should allow you to view more, not less than 16:9.

From what Iv seen of The Order gameplay segments, the environments dont look that much better than Gears 3. Although the setting is nice, It isnt until the game switches to cut scenes that the high resolution/high detailed faces and models are used. We saw the same thing in the less than stellar Uncharted 4 gameplay too. The Order is definitely a decent looking game but like Uncharted its not everything the PS4 fanboys are making it out to be. Ryse likely does the same thing with the model switching during cut scenes but the detail in the environments In Ryse during gameplay and cut scenes is consistent and looks really good even in the XBONE version of the game.

The Order looks kind of dull to me. A bit too dark though I suppose that's the kind of game it is. I'm more worried about the gameplay than graphics with The Order tbh.

First The Order has to beat Crysis before we can compare with Ryse

Some environment textures in Order look blurry. Character models are great. However, clever camera angles during cutscenes, art style and color schemes make it look real but distract from actual background detail. I think Ryse has better textures and world detail.

I notice this too. In many shots there seems to some low res textures in there.

The main difference seems to be the lighting. It absolutely destroys Ryse, and most others.

Ryse is going for a more photorealistic style while TO1886 is more CGI style.

But overall, since they're both linear corridor games, i'd have to give the edge to The Ordder 1886.

Just because order has film grain does not make it better graphics.

Graphics = textures. the more blurry and the more lower textures are, the worse graphics is.

Taking compressed screenshots from videos of the order against pc version of ryse, lems have reached a new low.

Don't worry about that. Ryse had an equally bad gameplay (or this is what it seems like). Just compare the gfx.

On-topic: Ryse for the easy win

Don't even own an an XB1. I have a gaming pc, and I'm really impressed with Ryse on PC. The lighting/PBR it's using combined with it's great quality of assets, especially the foliage make it look more lifelike than anything else to date. The Order is a good challenger though, even to the PC version, it looks real at times, no doubt there. Part of that is the film grain but it does have incredible lighting.

Also for anyone wondering, I'm referring to best from a technical aspect, which usually boils down to photorealism.

Also, if there's any other game that you think deserves a mention, i'll add it to the OP, just post images of it below.

really? did they post screenshots watermarked "gamersyde" on their site? and also the low resolution thumbnails? against a downsampled ryse on pc? yeah sure, your intentions were not clear at all lem.

Obviously pc will always look better, but this is great for console standards.

The first one is art. Looks at the individuals standing on the left side. And the second shot isn't really that impressive for "NEXT-GEN". Still looks good nontheless :)

You are right about the first one, still, the point is they are better representatives of the quality instead of the bullshots TC posted "that he got from the main site with watermarks from a youtube video"

The Order: 1886 cause it's 1080p and it ain't got nothing on shitty Ryse. By the way, it's 100% PS4 exclusive.

Ryse PC ultra is easily better than sub 1080p, 20 fps dips, film grain black lines The Order.

The Order, the one true gen 8 exclusive, only for current gen 8 console leader PS4.

Again, I didn't try to get bad Order shots. The 2nd, 3rd, and i think the 4th are from the Order's website, go check the media section there, you'll see. I'll put your shots in the OP though. I don't think anything on the XB1(Ryse is a blurry mess on there) can touch PC or PS4's best.

Having seen both, Ryse on PC even running at 1080p is far beyond what The Order is doing.

The Order is closer to Ryse on Xbox One.

Hopefully being more linear alllows it to run better that Ryse on XB1 because that game clearly wasnt optimised.

Ryse looks better. It would make more sense to compare it to something currently out on PS4. Infamous SS is a good looking game, not as good as Ryse but not as dull as The Order.
