Ryse: Launch Trailer. This is Next Gen

Why so little game-play footage shown? Sorry 1:44 doesn't scream "This is next gen".

I went from not giving a shit about this game to preordering the day one edition. Lol

After watching a couple minutes of the live stream yesterday I am now considering getting this game. Terrible reviews could change my mind, but from the little I've seen so far it looks like it will be fun.

Unfortunately, you can't ignore the crappy gameplay even in a hype trailer.

Gameplay is opinion, and to me it looks like a brawler with an amazing setting, atmosphere, and graphics. This is one of my Day One purchases.

I do hope you have a good time with it. I'm with you and score is irrelevant if I know I want a game. IT actually may score well here.

Its a launch trailer for story in single player. There are three different vids out there with 20 or more minutes of gameplay. As for next gen, this looks every bit next gen and the best looking launch game. More importantly than that, it looks fun as hell to me.

IMO anybody that bashes Ryse's graphics is a blind fanboy. Who cares if it's 900p is it looks this excellent?

Personally, I'm still not interested in this game. I watched the gameplay stream but it really didn't do anything for me. Then again, I never got into God of War either so maybe it comes with the genre.

yes. some people think that's enough for something to be called a game. i would personally like to play actual games. good graphics and story comes as a nice bonus.

but i reserve my judgment. i haven't played this game, and i don't know enough about it to call it bad yet. i'm just saying that a cinematic trailer like that would NEVER convince me to buy any game. no matter what studio has made it.

Looks good and if the gameplay is meh then the only thing that can save it is amazing visuals (Just look at Crysis)

It could get anything between a 5 and a 8. If it got a 9, which I highly doubt, SW would go Super Nova. Hell, 8 would be shocking.

I haven't really enjoyed a button masher since GOW2. GOW3 was stale because I got tired of the genre. This game keeps looking better, but I'm not sure I'm going to buy it yet.

This would be one of the worst case scenarios of what next gen could be. All flash and no substance in the vain of games like Uncharted and Heavy Rain...

All I see is a 2 minute trailer with almost no gameplay.

Not on the same level as C3 and Metro LL,looks solid but the gameplay is just...boring and repetitive. It is more like a CryEngine demo.

Lems have been owned so bad as to their main character looks worse than a basic VSA soldier.

Combat reminds me of batman or assassins creed. But those graphics are amazing. I can't wait to play this.

if it would actually be anything like batman, this would be quite good for a launch title. to me the combat looked more generic. we'll see.

How so? The combo system is really detailed man. Having to time executions and the better you do the more points you get a la batman. Plus they added in there own perk system so the better your combo the better the bonuses you purchase will apply. Chaining together custom combos a la batman. But using a sword and shield. Gameplay looked fun as hell to me.

Then again I love me some batman games. Check the stream, I think it could be a ton of fun.

Wow. That's an amazing trailer. I won this, and the Xbox One thanks to Every2Minutes. So far, looks like I made a solid choice.

Beautiful trailer. The 3 seconds of actual gameplay that isn't a QTE just speaks to the concerns we already have.

Why did they go and make the combat so athletic? The Roman Legionnaires of the Marian reforms era carried some 40 kilos of gear, why couldn't they make it so that the combat was very slow and heavy instead of fast and acrobatic?

I mean in God of War you only wear a tunic and you have massive knives on chains, it's perfect for the whole jumpy brutal ninja combat, but here they could have really differentiated by making the combat more slow, methodical and heavy.

Looks great, especially the character models. Not surprising, though, it's a Crytek game.

ok it DOES look a bit like batman. one of the big things about batman, though, was the fast vertical movement with the grappling hook, so you could go in and out of fights fast. i wonder if there's something in Ryse's sleeve too. obviously not grappling hooks, but something to spice up the fighting in the long run.

Yeah the game is linear as hell.

Ryse is looking pretty beast, the power of Cry Engine 3 meets next gen.

i though it would take longer for you to use the i dont care about the terrible reviews the game is going to get card. Crysis 2 and 3 were beautiful and ryse doesnt even compare, we all know how crytek games end up being.

I'm surprised they went with a fairly well used trailer song like Heart of Courage, especially when it is pretty well known in gaming from Mass Effect 2's launch trailer. Crytek usually makes pretty good music, I'm sure they could have taken a bit of effort to make their own song for a launch trailer
