I was wrong to drink the "current-gen won't hold next-gen back" Kool-Aid. I've talked to enough people now. It might make sense for some games, but not AAA, system-seller kinds of big-budget productions.— Ryan McCaffrey (@DMC_Ryan) August 24, 2020
Cut bait on the old hardware. I wanna see what the new stuff can do.
IGN's biggest Xbox shill admits this was a big L for all the goons who backed MS on this failed PR stunt (that they walked back on). WOO boy, one look at the Halo Infinite demo killed all that noise real quick. Yes, Kool-Aid drinking is an apt metaphor as a certain head of Xbox is a Jim Jones wannabe figure in the industry.
It would have been okay for Xbox to support crossgen to an extent, but don't pretend it was some sort of altruistic act on behalf of gamers when you just didn't have next gen first-party content ready.
