Rumour: Halo 3 Pre-Orders Tops 4 Million!!!!!!!!

If this is true then this game alone will make the 360 the leader in this generation. It will move about 2-3 million 360s this holiday.

    As for it driving 360 sales, that is a given, but the strength of the other Halos never pushed the Xbox to PS2 styled sales numbers, so I would be leary touting Halo 3 as a 360 "deal-sealer"...

At blockbuster there were two lines. One for people who preordered and one for people who just wanted to pay for it....

I didnt preorder Halo 2 and just walked right in to Blockbuster and bought it. The line for the preorders was completely stacked. I mean going to the back of the store. And the line for just buying it had like 3 people in it. I even got the LE too. lol

I have my pre-order in!

Agreed 100%.  Most of the pre-orders if not all are from current 360 owners.  I also have my pre-order in. :) 

I'd say it will probably sell about 1 million consoles.

    Gears took a while to hit 3 million units sold, so this is a lot more, if the source is accurate.

Fair play though, im not a fan but there was never any doubting the Halo is a big seller.

Yeah, it says in the article itself that the info is not even verified. It even states that alot of these pre-orders are made by peopple who don't even own a 360 yet. I mean, how the hell are they gonna know that? C'mon now! Wait for a verifiable source like MS or Bungie everyone.

That's probably a good thing you pre-ordered it before the 2nd.  After finishing the story mode in the 2nd please immediately go on-line.

Yeah im guessing this is only a handful of the halo fans. Im sure there wont be many shortages on launch day so most people especially the casual gamers will just go and buy it on day 1, unless they want the limited or legendary editon.

    You do realize the top selling PS2 title only had 14 million units sold? Just because it had such a huge userbase, you should not judge everything against it.

I think they should make a Elite that comes with Halo 3 for Christmas.  It worked great for Blue Dragon in Japan.VladTheImpaler

Yeah, I'm buying a lot of games this Q4 like Halo 3, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, Half-Life2: OB etc...

And not pre-ordering one so if it is 4 Million copies expect another Million maybe in the first day or two from walk in sales if they have enough supply for it
