The latest leak states that Mafia 4 game is currently in development and apparently, it's set in Las Vegas and it follows a dirty cop Hain who gets involved in a gambling scam.

the leaker states that he has a close relative who works at ESRB for Canada, reviewing text scripts from games. Most properties are in codenames but being an avid gamer, the person managed to figure out it's a script from a Mafia game.

It's codenamed Sam Boyd 4, which they believe to be Mafia 4. The setting of the game is codenamed Saint Fortuna, which is Las Vegas and Lost Haven is also included. The story will revolve over multiple time periods.

The main protagonist of the game is a dirty cop named Hain who gets involved in a gambling scam early on. Additionally, the game is very branching in terms of who you want Hain to be, crackdown in the mob or join them.

The game also has a secondary protagonist, who is a judge in Lost Haven whose missions will consist of trials of mobsters, career spans from the 40s to 80s.

Plot sound interested. hopefully its not hanger 13 making it.

Maybe we'll get to shoot someone through the eye. Or bang cocktail waitresses, two at a time.

For a game set in Las Vegas, I wouldn't mind this one time if it included gambling mechanics.

People who hype trash like this are into cover shooters. Ghost enjoys cover shooters, which is disgusting tbh.

Yet to play Mafia 3

Its a mafia game. Good story but my god the city is fking dead. Nothing at all other than driving to the mission spot, better make it a semi open world like TLOU with linear progression.

@ghosts4ever: If it’s not Hangar 13 making it, it’s not happening. 2K’s other studios are busy with their own, more lucrative, projects, and a new studio isn’t going to be set up for a new installment of a dying franchise.

Mafia 3 has a good story, but was repetitive at times... still an enjoyable game

You are probably right, played 1 and 2 only.

Mafia 3 was a letdown, and the Mafia 1 remake was somehow even more of letdown.

Mafia 1 and 2 was great, third one started out great and then it just kept repeating the same 3-4 missions 2 hundred times...

That was a scene out of Boardwalk Empire. Considering game devs are more than okay with blatantly borrowing from movies it actually wouldn't surprise me if someone did this.

That story about playing as a corrupt cop actually sounds awesome. Hopefully this leak is legitimate. I really liked the story in Mafia 3, but thought the gameplay sucked.

Las Vegas is a awesome setting but I have no faith in Hanger 13 they will make it a bland open world with nothing to do like Mafia 3 also the gunplay sucked and felt underpowered.

Meh, not too excited after playing Mafia 3. Wasn't as bad as people made it out to be, but it was pretty forgettable.

Las Vegas is going to be boring as hell though. It's a desert with a flashy town in the middle of it FFS.

Corrupts cop. Expect the review to be 4 paraphs of gobbledygook word salad from some pink haired commie who'll reluctantly bring up game mechanics.

Mafia seems to have lost it's way and this does seem back on track. It was a story game, not GTA. The city was window dressing.

If anything they are better going down the Yakuza route and downsizing the environment.

Yakuza basically does what Mafia intended and does it better, condensed down without all the padding.
