Floor got wet, contrast increased and textures much better, lighting improved too.
Visually superior? subjective.
Nothing like the jump from PS2 to PS3.
There is nothing subjective in terms of graphics on a technical level within that comparison. Second Son is obviously superior. Now whether you prefer one artstyle over the other is different, but technically Second Son on PS4 is objectively superior.
I'm actually more impressed with what PS4 offered over PS3 than what PS3 offered over PS2. For example the difference between Red Dead Redemption 2 and original RDR has impressed me way more compared to RDR and Red Dead Revolver.
Technically yes, to an end user though all they see is visuals, it won't matter what technicality is used if it's not giving justice to it's bold claims.
It's like those people who value themselves so much yet in reality have not so much to show for it.
