Told ya...
XseX sure has the herms shook and for good reason. lol
The Pee Salty Seas are gonna be turbulent and extra Salty later this year. :P
It'd be great to have one, but those things are super overpriced. When 3080 Ti hits the market, perhaps that's when I might get a 2080 Ti.
Not really interest investing Ampere at all. I'll stick around with my RTX 2070 and that GPU has been really awesome for me. The only thing I'm really interest is Ryzen 4000 series cause I need to replace my 2700X asap!
Sure. If I can get it for less than $249 I am jumping ship for good.
I highly doubt that, I expect all Ampere starting price to be $300 starting with 3060 and this is Nvidia we're talking about. Lets face it, they have full control of the GPU market.
@Pedro: GTX 1070 cost less then $400 and is equivalent of GTX 980 Ti that launched nine months earlier for $650, not to mention it literally destroys GTX Titan Black that launched 24 months earlier and cost whooping $1000. So, how old is RTX 2080 Ti now? XD
I think Nvidia is not using 7nm for Apmere or they wouldn't have said the largest GPU.
At this point just a guess, but going by NVIDIA's RTX 2xxx reveal, he'll probably just brag about how they shrinked that thing into a desktop GPU...
Because "IT JUST WORKS"...XD

So, what are you saying? The 2080 Ti would be priced at $400? Were you missing in action when the RTX 2000 series was launched and the prices were sky high?

If you have a b450, X470 or earlier board, you will probably need a new board for zen 3. Not sure if you are aware.

Actually got a launch RTX 2070, so...>.>

Again your argument is that the 2080 Ti is going to midrange come November. Which is absolutely silly.

Nah, if you believe that vanilla RTX 2070 is still entry-highend, then probably yes...

Hypothetically, if there is a Maxwell to Pascal type jump for Nvidia and if there are 2-3 RDNA2 sku's that beat the 2080ti which is what is rumored, the 2080ti would fit into the midrange level in the market come Nov. But a lot has to come true for that to happen, grain of salt and all that.

Not impossible. If it gets beaten out by a 3070, it'll be a mid-range card. Not betting on that but it's not out of the realm of possibilities.
I'mma wait on official info, as I have all the money I need set aside for a new build.
So you sold your kidney too? /s

With Nvidia's pricing, I may need to up my savings lol.
With the new consoles and AMD apparently set to be competitive in the high end market, maybe Nvidia will actually have to price their shit reasonably... Doubt it but I can dream.

That is a lot of ifs. I don't see a $1200 card dropping to the price of a midrange card. Such an expectation is grotesquely unrealistic.

Already happened in the past...
@sirk1264: I have MSI X570 motherboard I upgrade last year so I can future-proof myself for any Ryzen upgrade. And yeah, I heard AMD wasn't gonna support B450, X470 which is lame, glad I trusted my instincts to upgrade my motherboard for this reason.

Yeah, may be! Not in terms of die size but may be number of transistors.
Already happened in the past...
Really? I wasn't aware that Nvidia Ti's were typically $1200.
Uh, neither was a midrange card typically $400+ (RX 5700 XT / RTX 2060 S), so?

You said it already happen n the past. 😎
Are we going to argue about measly $50 dollar difference (jump from Maxwell to Pascal)?

I am talking about $1200 video card to $400.
So are you talking about its performance equivalent successor cost or about 2080 Ti itself?
Nice try, but the super charged SSD inside my future PS5 will be more powerful than your amperewhatever card.

The price for midrange. In order for 2080 Ti to be midrange, the price has to drop to midrange.
If your GPU falls performance-wise to the midrange category, it's midrange... *confused*

This isn't that unrealistic, Pascal to Touring was a worthless leap forward. If this is "the Pascal of Touring" than I can easily see the 3080 Ti being almost twice as fast as the 2080 Ti.
In actual gameplay my 1080 Ti under H2O and OC'd matched my 980 Ti SLI in anything but synthetics. Assuming the 3060 is 50-60% as fast as the 3080 Ti that would put the 2080 Ti as "mid range".
RDNA is pushing Nvidia a bit more this year and they've ironed out many of the Touring problems hopefully. With the consoles coming out it would be the time for another GPU leap - similar to what we had with Maxwell to Pascal. Or Big Kepler to Maxwell. Touring is about to get Fermi'd.

Yeah, that would be nice. AMDs pricing has be wondering if i'll go with them for my CPU side of things.
