Spartans were OP when combined with Phalanx on bridge. And the unit's look was historically inaccurate. :PI wanna do 300 spartans vs. 10,000 peasants again like the old days :P

The Chariots were a hoot and Cataphracts were my fav unit (minus peasants, nothing can replace my beloved peasants)I wanna do 300 spartans vs. 10,000 peasants again like the old days :P

EDIT: And I agree on the General. I want him back!
I hope they can release a special addition for the next xbox/playstation,rts games have not translated well at all this generation of consoles,i believe a controller can work but these kind of games are usually very resource intensive and current systems can cope with that much action on screen at once.blacktorn
Very few console gamers would buy this game.

Well, the answer to your question is yes. You can manage your settlements, recruit troops, build your economy, etc.
Yes, but if that's not what you'r into I do believe their is an "auto manage settelment" option for each city, but it's not like it's hard anyway.will i have to manage my bases in this game?

The City management isn't real-time (it's turn based) so you can take all the time you want. The combat, however, is real-time although you can slow and pause the game if should be necessary (large armies can be somewhat difficulty to manage).I play the Total War series since the first Shogun, but when i introduced it to my cousin thats the only games he plays is Total War, he probalby put in more then 10000+ hours into them. And Rome is his favorite, so when i tell him about this one he will be excited.
Gentlemen, I have a strong feeling that we won't see this game until early 2014 at the very least. They will delay it at least once.

This is considered goty by some people?
I would rather play PONG if i only had the choice between the 2 games.

R..T...T...?
Never heard of that but ok if you say so...
Yes, RTT is a genre. I suppose you haven't heard of TBS either
Rome Total War is pretty easy to get into, or Medieval 2: Total War.So guys, I've already been recommended Rome: Total War and Shogun (or one of it's stand alone expansions) as good starters, but which of those two would be a real good start for the "n00bz"? :P
I don't want to be easy, but I want to be a good start, one that probably has a campaign that starts softly (good for n00bz like moi) and then grows increasinglyharder! I have some experience with Cov 4 and AOE 3 if that's some help..
Desmonic
[QUOTE="4dr1el"]Yes, RTT. You've probably never heard of it because you're a consolite. ;) Believe it or not, I refuse to use the term RTT. I classify the TW series as a TBS series since the core of the game is on the map.R..T...T...?

edit: Ok, scratch that. It seems it exists but still console gamers dont give a fvck about games like RTS/RTT/TBS w/e you want to call them
edit 2: and wtf is up with such a variation of terms? Tactic is basically a synonym for strategy... using both terms with diferent meaning seems stupid to me
