Resident Evil 8 will be in First person - Rumors

The details:

• Ethan will be returning as a playable character.
• Resident Evil 8 was tested last year.
• It will not be called Resident Evil 8, but will have a “clever title”
• The game will be in First-person like RE7.
• Gameplay starts in a village leading up to a castle.
• The environment will be rural, snowy, and mountainous; possibly Europe.
• Regular zombies will be appearing instead of the Molded from RE7.
• There is a persistent shadowy “female” enemy that will follow you but will dissipate if shot.
• There are also wolf-like creatures that will attack the player in certain areas.
• Chris Redfield will also be returning in some capacity.

GOAT time RE game and one of the best horror game sequel is not some third person. great news. this is what something exciting. RE7 was amazing game and im so happy if sequel follow it footstep and have so many things to be improved

Sounds like RE8 will be similar to RE4 but with the same camera angle as in RE7. Not the worst combo ever. I hope those rumors are true, and I am always excited about new RE games.

Meh to RE8. I personally like RE7 on PC, I was scared as hell in FPS but I'm not interest in RE8, just RE3 Remake is my only concern. I also like Ethan, he's pretty tame.

Sounds like hot garbage. Although I can’t blame them for trying to capture lightning in a bottle that was RE4 and combine it with 7

Thank fvck they aren't abandoning RE7's plot. Need to see what happens next and more first person goodness. Here's hoping it'll be mostly a grounded experience and won't feature too many big ass over the top villains like RE5. Last one got the balance right imo.

That sounds a bit disappointing if true. While I did enjoy RE7 I definitely prefer the third person perspective and more “traditional” style of the RE games. I do like that zombies are coming back and the werewolf thing could be quite interesting and cool.

Yes, no problem with something like this if it's a spin-off, but would rather not have it in main entries.

VR, please. RE7 was amazing on PSVR.

There was fixed camera era, then third person era which just suck, then new first person era which is rocking.

Well... looks like other than the remakes, the series is officially dead for me. Fun while it lasted.

RE4 will always be the GOAT I rather have a remake of 4 then this, Ethan has less personality then Claude from GTA 3.

Since these are rumors I would wait until Capcom confirms this themselves. Anyways if they do bring back Ethan I do hope that they give him more of a personality and actually show his face this time. I didn't hate him in Resident Evil 7 but he definitely isn't as memorable as the other Resident Evil characters.

Personally I would prefer if they returned to 3rd person ala REmake2. Also, give me a Code Veronica REmake Capcom!

Bringing Zombies to the 7 formula is such a great decision. Ethan was an excellent protagonist, and Im looking forward to the face reveal

I'd prefer third person but maybe they are saving that for the remakes.

I was hoping for a new bioweapon rather than going back to zombies, since the Molded were the best RE monster type since rhe Regenerators from RE4. Capcom are just gonna run the series into the ground again if they go back to regurgitating the old RE1-3 formula.

RE7 is a gem along with Doom 2016.

prior to RE7. they were action games pure. RE5 was third person brown action game, RE6 was movie game. RE7 is a real horror game.

And I agree with Ghost. RE1 and RE7 are the only horror games in the franchise. The rest are action games

@pinkribbonscars: RE5 was a lot of fun once you realize it went full action unlike the rest of the series before it and you just roll with it. I get why RE fans didn't like it, but as its own game it was actually good.

Also RE1 and 7 are the only horror games in the franchise...bwahahahahaha, my god I found somebody almost as derpy as Ghost lol.

If we are going by best third person RE game than its definitely RE2 remake.

Well Code Veronica too I guess, but it was so bad I always forget it exists. Resident evil 2,3, 4, 5 and 6 are action games

4 had some godtier horror moments (Chainsaw Sisters, Regenerators), but 2,3,5 and 6 had no zero. Unless you think zombies and giant alligators are horror? Lol

What were 7 sales like compared to remakes?

I agree it has some of the best atmosphere in the series, but everything else was garbage. It's worse than 0 imo.

Plus the story is also best in RE7 than in previous games. you got crazy backer family and backer family dinner was somewhat creepy

and Ethan if even he is not seen but show more personality than Leon Kennedy who looks like leonardo Dicaprio and clarie redfiend and jill valentines etc. they are shallow characters.

I hope not. RE7 didn't feel like a RE game one bit. They want a fps RE game, call it something else. RE2R is how all RE games should be from now on.
