Resident Evil 6 getting PS4/XBO port?

It's a rumor based on information supposedly released by accident from a Korean software ratings board over the rating of RE6 for PS4/XBO. As the article states the same ratings board by mistake was the one who leaked the HD version of Resident Evil Revelations in 2012.

Well, this makes sense. Capcom was doing both the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 0 ports on PS4/XBO, I figure since they can't actually fund a full game on their own they probably can't do much more than re-release this older stuff. It's only fitting they add RE6 too. I personally didn't mind it like everyone else, heck I might have even had a good time at parts, it's biggest problems IMO was the lack of polish, if they can do a lot to cover up its many blemishes I might even consider picking this up. Don't expect this to do anything to help the financially either. Anyhow, it'll be interesting for me to see if it'll remain the same spotty game with a new coat of paint, or if they'll make substantial improvements to give it a more satisfactory experience this time around. I expect a lot of people don't care though and will be pretty pissed if this is true, as RE6 was a universally hated game.

I hope Sony on top of publishing SFV left Capcom with enough of a revenue share to get back on their feet when it releases.

@uninspiredcup: I hope not, if they don't bother fixing the last games most glaring glitches I won't bother looking at them in HD, and in many ways I felt like the game's biggest defender and hell even I might say no to it (won't to RE2 or RE0 but might on this).

I played the remastered version on PC three years ago.

I can't believe i would say this anytime in my life, but i want RE5.

I'd buy it again gladly, I really like it. A remaster of 5 and Operation Raccoon City would be incredible too.

Hehe I'm a big fan of RE6, and finished it numerous times. Don't think I would get a remaster though but I don't know maybe if they do something interesting like add leaderboard support and sell it really cheap, will see.

Rightfully so. Game was garbage. I suffered through it, only because I've complete every RE entry ever (at least the main games, including the GameCube remakes and Code Veronica).

I mean RE always had issues with gameplay - but the old school tank controls sort of had their charm. RE6 was just a clunky, horrible, linear scripted shooter. The fact they had 3 separate campaigns just made it embarrassing. I appreciate ambition, but they should have focused on the engine and gameplay first.

Don't care. They announced REmake2 so they are free from my critical judgement.

RE6 wasn't very fun even playing coop with a friend and I got the game for $10. Wouldnt buy any remaster,

I'm of the opinion that this game wasn't actually that bad. I think the Leon campaign is total garbage, but the other campaigns play as fun action shooters. It definitely has problems, but the core action is very satisfying.

I couldn't even stand the demo of that game...so a remake sounds terrible for me.

Probably not, but Capcom doesn't have the money to make new games, I mean even things like an RE2 HD port will require lots of resources, piggybacking off RE0's GameCube and Wii assets like RE HD did probably will make that an easy port but RE2 will definitely require a good amount of work since they'll have to entirely redo the visuals there. Whereas games like RE6 probably not so much work (same could be said for RE5 and RE4 for that matter).

I mean, some people will probably be angry because they either hated RE6 or hated the thought of it, but I'm worried. This is it for Capcom. They don't have any tricks left. It's SF5 must be a stellar success or bust here.

I'm one of the few who enjoyed this game. The mercenary mode was fantastic and the campaigns overall were not that bad. The environments in some of the levels and encounters were terrible though.

Because Capcom desperately needs money and it's easier just to port an old game than make a new one.

yeah, glad to see some people here actually liked it, I wouldn't say some of the areas were bad to me at least, what I didn't like about some of the environments were that some were redundant when they started to cross paths, I'd of preferred if the different campaigns felt more unique all the way through

What If I told you RE 6 Pretty Popular in Asian (Especially China,Japan)

This game really made me question my stance on "anything is fun in coop", because good god did they fucking ruin the game feel of Resident Evil, and egad some of that encounter design is terrible.

@gantarat: I'd believe it, though I'd of guessed the Chinese state media censors would have tried banning RE6 for depicting China as being the epicenter of a global pandemic. I can believe it though, that new Resident Evil shooter seems much like the Ghost in the Shell shooter they're making for Korea; I didn't think Asian people liked shooters period, but the prevalence of these games must be evidence of the contrary

RE6 was the worst in the series. Probably my most disappointing game last gen

Eh, the visuals were probably the best part of that game when it first released. The rest of it was dire. Why remaster it?

Unless either Sony or Microsoft is throwing money at them to make exclusives like Street Fighter V or Dead Rising 3 , they don't have the money to make big games anymore, at least not until SFV gives them an injection of money, the game is bound to make something decent, but depending on what kind of revenue split Sony worked out with Capcom I'm wondering if that will even be enough for them to get back up on their feet.
