@good_sk8er7: Nothing you have said in any way proves why the wii u can compete with the other two, in fact, you acknowledge it wont. So how is my comment stupid? I never said anything about the quality of the games at all.
The second console stuff is a blatant cop out on system wars. Particularly considering the boasting about wii u prior to launch. You say software drives sales, which is true, so why are the wii u sales in the toilet? Like I said, you getting one (one) doesn't change that fact. You are not the centre of the universe. The universe has decided the wii u isn't for them. Whether or not you agree with their decision, it's a fact, and that means Reggie is wrong. Not correct as you asserted. So far from my post being "stupid", you agree with it, and have decided to change the subject promptly, because you have no argument.
As for your final paragraph, why you've put that in I have no idea, but there are very few gamers who can beat me in terms of loyalty. I've been gaming for around 27 years.
I first want to apologize for saying your comment was stupid. I meant to remove that.
Why is second console a cop out? Many people have a second console, there's no reason why that should discredit it.
I know I'm not the center of the universe, that's a silly statement. The point is that if I feel this way than there are many people who feel this way as well. We all function in a similar way, so if I feel someway it is undeniably true that there are many people who feel the same. The Wii U will be fine because it DOES do something different and something unique.
The universe hasn't decided shit. That sounds extremely like what people on here were saying in the first year OR 2 of the PS3, and that ended up doing great in the long run. Who's to say that Nintendo won't start trying extremely hard like Sony had to with the PS3? New IPs and golden games are going to happen, they always do for Nintendo. Those games will make gamers want to play. I said that they can't compete with the other consoles on the same terms. BUT I also said they don't have to, they do things that are unique and different. They never have tried to compete with Sony of MS on the same playing field, they've always done something different.
The reason for the last paragraph is just that if they can hook a GOOD install base they'll be fine whether that install base is large or tiny. Nintendo is a great company, and the fact that they aren't doing well right now doesn't mean they're going to burn to the ground as long as they have fans that buy their games just to support them.
Oh and props on being a game supporter for so long. I'm only 22, but I've been gaming since I was 5. I'll be supporting the industry for as long as I'm alive and not homeless.
