Anyway, that's great to know. Like I've said before, Arkane are the one studio I trust blindly when it comes to game design.

Seriously though I'm wondering how they can blend singleplayer with multiplayer, as usually this never works out. But if it does: fine, I'm super excited.

that game has gone through a real identity crisis. started out demo-d as a colourful kiddy mp co-op shooter, then the message was it's actually primarily a sp game, then the next trailer shows the tone has become more serious and horror-oriented, and now the message is it plays like stalker and far cry 2.

even though i really dislike fc2, i'm glad they singled out fc2 rather than just say far cry. grab your popcorn, this is going to be really interesting.

Arkane are intelligent when they single out FC2. when any dev talk about FC. they talk about FC3 to onwards tired and stale cinematic formula.

FC2 was immersive game and glad arkane use it as example.

yeah bit similar to deathloop. after two trailers most people still weren't really sure what kind of game it was, so for the third they gave up with traditional trailers and instead it was just a video of the creative director explaining how the game works lol. redfall just needs to pick a lane and stick to it

I hope it is not like that mediocre game Far Cry 2. If that is the case, incoming flop.

Never played any of those games. Want to say that I very briefly tried Left4Dead once but I’m not entirely sure. May have been a demo on the 360. 😅

Will at least try Redfall since it’ll be on Game Pass.

also apologize for hyping Stalker 2. doesnot looks as good as Stalker 1, putting Cutscene dialogue is worst choice they made. still looking forward to it but hype went down after latest trailer.

@ghosts4ever: my God, stop hyping this game!! This is one of the games i'm actually looking forward to in 2023 along with harry potter. The last game you hyped was one of the biggest flops in history (CP).

I really loved Dishonored 1-2 and Deathloop, so I will give this game a go for sure. That being said I don't think this is the best direction to take Arkane in. Neither FarCry nor co-op excites me tbh. But a slightly worse Arkane game is still a great game in my book :).

Hmmm not sure this is a good thing... Far Cry 2 was cool for the first third of the game but became a chore after a while. Anyway, we'll see.

Yeah initially they had advertised it as a L4D clone with different characters/classes and I think there was a backlash against that (at least from the diehard gaming community), so Arkane has been damage controlling ever since sayin "No, this is a mostly singleplayer game!".

Some day Arkane will make a bad game, but they haven't yet, so I have high expectations for this game.

Glad they have been promoting this. Their gameplay video and the Arkane name sold me on it.

Don't they have a publisher? Ie experts that are paid to do this sort of stuff (marketing)

Been through multiple. Their games have generally always had shitty sales with good reception.

Can make the argument "well their games are just inherently difficult to market", don't think that's the case. Just straight up bad marketing.

Look at Graven, a game with fantastic ideas but again sold like shit.

True. Although it's still pin it down to bad marketing.

For example, this game actually sucks ass, tonally nothing like the trailer. It's a lie. But it's a good lie that sells.

Seems more like the focus is to shake any notion it's some kind of Left 4 Dead derivative so people aren't disappointed by false expectations.

Stalker is a great game. Not one of best ever dude. I’m looking forward to finding out how it is
