RDR2 needs 105GB minimal on PS4

If you have a 500GB model, that is 1/5 of your entire space.

Can i just say just say that with all this 4K and raytracking BS we left out a simple thing - gamespace.

We need to move to petabites.

I'd imagine it is done to decrease load times. Less compression = shorter loads.

Base xbox one and ps4 are using SATA 2 and have bandwidth caps on top of it because of background processes.

Better to just load the data rather have to constantly wait for decryption and decompression

You can use an USB HDD or exchange the internal HDD.

I would imagine that this is just for the Pro and X versions. The standard game will hopefully be entirely on the disc and if you have either the Pro or the X then you will download all the things that will enhance the game for those more powerful systems.

I have 2tb on my X, I should be fine.

I upgraded to a 1TB quite a while ago. Still, that's more than 10%. Kind of ridiculous to think that a last gen launch system wouldn't even be able to store this game. Lol.

That's a lot of space just to let Rockstar do HD horse testicles that shrivel up and expand depending on the weather.

Not surprised, Rockstar puts in the required leg work and doesn't take shortcuts with their graphical assets, my 4TB drive is ready

With 105GB storage, I can't wait to see how much detail Rockstar put into the blades of grass and on that statue over there too. This simulator is gonna be nuts

With what I've read about the game lately as well as watching a Game Informer video on the demo; I am extremely hyped for this game now. I'm almost tempted to pick up an Xbox One X just to play it...lmao. Not sure if I want to wait for a PC version now!

You are already doing that though with every Pro/One X game unless you bought it digitally.

Also, this is far from the only game on consoles with install sizes this big.

My one s I gor 2016 is 2tb internal.

Even if you own a ps4 slim 500gb you can simply buy an external hdd and done you can have lot more games now easy

This is what Rockstar does every time. They can get people very excited, and for good reasons: the details in their games are insane. They polish their work insanely well.

But I've been tricked and fooled too many times by them. Yeah, I still love their games. But I don't want to be treated like a second class gamer just because I want the game on PC. I don't want to settle for less (aka consoles) yet again.

So I'm not. And if the game never hits PC, than so be it.

Nah but I completely understand. I bought Grand Theft Auto V on the Xbox 360 and then when it hit PC and I had a powerful rig to run it; I went out and bought it again to max it out and try out the mods. I'm just a huge Rockstar fan and I've enjoyed the majority of their games. Some of the details in this game is insane though. I saw a video and this guy was talking about the weather effects and how you'll notice the black clouds forming on one side with the thunder; while on the other side it's still cloudy and the storm hasn't caught up yet. I read that if you kill an NPC that he or she may have family and if they find out it was you; they'll come after you and try to kill you...lol.

Also, Kingdom Hearts III is another big game. I'm a fan of the series that isn't hitting PC until who knows how long after it hits for consoles. I know the experience will definitely be better on the PC and with Red Dead Redemption 2, I actually don't mind double-dipping again. Now I'm just asking myself "why wait?". Who knows where I'll be or if I'll still be as big into gaming as I am now; I tend to go through phases and take breaks time in time.

Dayum, that's crazy. Actually quite an annoyance, because I still have a 500GB model. If I had 2TB or even 1TB, it wouldn't be much issue at all. But 500GB is a tight squeeze. I've already had to delete games. This would make me clear 2 or 3 retail game installs. This might actually prompt me to upgrade. It is about time I bought a Pro anyway LOL.
