Yay, Turing is here. Not that I'm going to buy it; with rumoured prices between $800-$1,200, these RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti just aren't for me.
Still, can't wait to see the RTX 2070, whenever that comes. These arriving hopefully means that won't be too far away.
RTX is the sequel to GTX ?
I believe it's just a bit of a change-up to promote their ray-tracing tech, which is also called RTX.
@FireEmblem_Man: The fact that I don't even play at 4K, so these new GPU's seem useless to me. The 1080Ti that I'm using is good enough for 1440p/60fps gaming at high/max settings. Yeah, I'm skipping this one. Guess buying my 1080Ti on Cyber Monday last year wasn't a bad idea after all before the price skyrocket. 8GB is more then enough for 1440p anyways.

2070 is arriving in September, with performance on par with 1080ti

@R4gn4r0k: Separate products. GTX 1180 is rumored to be announced tomorrow.
Thanks for the clarification everyone :)
More choice seems like a great thing.
rmpumper is clueless, there's no GTX 1180. The next series will be the RTX 2000 series. The RTX 2070 will be the successor to the GTX 1070.
@R4gn4r0k: Ray Tracing is a gimmick at this point.
Does it hurt to be so clueless? You don't even know what Ray-Tracing is.
@BassMan: too bad your thread isn't in System Wars, so you GTFO of here
Honestly, he forgot that "Different forums for different folks" and the fact "PC & A/V Hardware" is only about PC hardware discussion, hardly anyone in SW isn't gonna go to that place.

The GeForce RTX 2070 is set to launch sometime in September, following the debut of the RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 next Monday, at an estimated suggested price of ~$400 give or take a hundred bucks. The card is said to slightly outperform NVIDIA’s current GeForce GTX 1080 by roughly 8%, but not quite match the GTX 1080 Ti.
8% faster than 1080 wouldn't call that on par with a 1080 ti doubtful that we are getting a maxwell to pascal jump in performance with turing.
interesting note this rumor has the rtx 2070 at $400 while the pre-order leak at PNY had the rtx 2080 at $800 (place holder price?). theirs not going to be a $400 price difference between these gpus.
I'll probably skip this since I'm happy with my 1070. I'll wait to see what they are releasing in 2020 around when the new consoles arrive.
1000 USD would be very steep. Even though I'm ready to upgrade, have a hard time justifying spending that much on a single component.

Dude, I want to upgrade, but I've been hearing this thing is going to be 1000 bucks... I don't know if I can stomach that. Lol Well, I could stomach it, but I don't know if my wallet can thanks to our insane housing crisis prices we have going on in the states.

Yeah that price seems insane. I wanna upgrade too, but most I ever spent on a GPU is 400 :/
Still, gaming is going fine for me at 3440x1440 & 120Hz, it's just that I wanna run BF V like that too ... and Metro ...

I know, haha. Well, supposedly the 2070 will be 400... Would be a decent upgrade from the 1070, and since it's stronger than the 1080, I'd imagine it'd be able to do battlefield 5 on high at that res at around 65-70 fps.

Would be all up for that. I'd always choose the mid-end graphics cards over the high-end cards because of their better price/performance ratio.
You reckon the 2070 could be out before October ? lol I really wanna get things ready for that Battlefield V launch ^^

I read rumors that it would be out in September, but no confirmation. Who knows with the way Nvidia does things. Lol

I'm hoping for some big announcements tomorrow.
Also dying to see more Battlefield V info at gamescom. It could be one heck of a week starting tomorrow :)

One thing I do like is it seems that they are going to do 3rd party releases at the same time. I don't want to buy one of the Nvidia cards, because the blowers on them are loud as hell, and the cooling just sucks. I had the Titan X blower style from Nvidia in the maxwell gen, and it sounded like a plane when I had intensive games up.

I have a pair of MSI Aero 1080's which have, pretty much, reference coolers. They're definitely the loudest fans in my case and they are not great overclockers.
Think I'll wait for one of AMD's nano products.
Nano is rumoured to be a mid range GPU with a console focus, it's expected to be hitting around GTX 1080 levels for the next console refresh.
My case only take itx GPU's, unless MSI make a 2060/70 aero itx, I'm pretty screwed. Don't know what ever happened to the Vega 64 nano which was rumoured.
my body is ready. My budget is 800 dollars for the video card. Hopefully even the 2080 won't be that high (it shouldn't, if it's anything like previous cards)...I don't think even the high-end cards should cost that much, save that shit for the "enthusiast" cards like Titan and Ti editions.

Nice. $400 is right in my price range, and 180W TDP is nice and snug. Looks like NVIDIA are going to win on efficiency again.
I already have a GTX 970 with a rather large custom DirectCU cooler. Hopefully it won't be too hard to find a RTX 2070 that will fit in my ITX case.
Watching the live stream on the announcement now.
No thanks. Jensen Huang loves talking to himself and I'll wait after the press is over. Plus, a lot of tech youtubers will just cover the real details and that saves me time.

Yeah, it's been quite the bore so far.
Any news on new products ? ^^
Not yet. Just architecture demos and technical jargon.
Got one, but that price is nuts!!!
Where is it listed as available for pre-order? Not in the states I presume?

Here
$1200 wtf
You get what you pay for. And this is one of them.

*Pats his GTX 1080Ti* Stay strong my friend, stay strong.
Hope you enjoy Golden :)
Edit: That 2070 for $600 isn't bad for that price. If I still had my 1070, I would've consider getting that GPU.
