Rage 2 is better than Far Cry 5?

Far Cry 5 had pretty open world map, and smooth gameplay.

But did someone actually enjoy playing thru it? Especially since the story turned out to be turnips, map takeover was endless, repetitive chore, and the ending... yeah, no.

And now we got another open world roamer with arcade shooting action in Rage 2.

And I gotta say it looks lot more fun than Far Cry 5 ever was.

Currently playing it, not to far in, only a couple hours. Its a lot better than far cry. Its plays like doom with a basic rpg and open world like far cry. It's really what far cry should be. The story is meh so far though.

I believe Rage 2 is way better as Far Cry 5 looks terrible.

Funny is that according to reviewers Rage 1 is better than Rage 2.

It's probably true. Rage 1 was great, albeit too short. Rage 2, while still having good gunplay, looks like the usual copy/paste formula akin to most open world games. I'd take a more linear Rage 2 from id Software over a mediocre open world from Avalanche any day.

quality difference between id and avalanche. and Rage 2 shows that how amazing shooting is and how bland open world elements is.

although Rage 1 was worst id software game. so they scrapped Rage ip and focus on Doom.

I'm enjoying Rage 2 but Far Cry 5 has better variety.

I don't know how far I am as far as car upgrades go, but I wish they just went full Mad Max and incorparated more stuff into the car combat, because it is just plain Mad Max, except simpler. They even have the convoys.

I'm going with this post as well. It does plays like Doom 2016, but with Far Cry open-world style. That said, Rage 2 is basically Mad Max story only set in the futuristic then a complete wasteland world.

Haven’t played rage 2 as it looks like a mediocre bargain bin title I might pick up at some point. A lot like mad max in other words...

Far cry 5 however was one of the best open world FPS games released in the last decade so don’t think rage 2 is even half as good.

I'd say for Singleplayer Rage 2 > FC5

but Far Cry 5 has co-op. You'll probably have more fun playing through FC5 with a friend than Rage 2 solo

I played Rage 2 for hour. its shooting is fine but is not even close to Doom. its world is incredibly bland and game is just typical open world game. plus its too easy even on Hard.

Doom Eternal will crap all over this game.

Being a major fan of Far Cry 5, I'd say that the game is about 878 times better than Rage 2.

my friend, i hate to say it. but Rage 1 is better game than this. despite it was flawed mostly because of id tech 5.

Rage 2 only strength is Good shooting mechanics but its not even as good as Doom. id software play thier part well. but Avalanche drop the ball big time.

imagine how amazing Rage 2 would be if develop by id software, using id tech 6, being linear with no fetch quest. but not.

At the very least its leaps and bound ahead of Rage 1... yet somehow scored way below. Just seems like there is too much politics in reviews these days.

I loved Far Cry 4, probably because I did not play 3. Far Cry 5 Is good, but the music was so bad. It was so bad to the extent it made the game unenjoyable for me.

Far Cry: New Dawn Is a Sillier, Better Version of Far Cry 5. When it comes to open-world games, the maxim is usually that “bigger is better. New Dawn uses an altered portion of Far Cry 5's open-world Montana setting, telling a tighter, better story in the process.

Um no you won't as the game won't let you get any further than a couple of hundred meters apart before you get a warning and the game spawns the second player back to where the host is, its useless shit.

Just finished Rage 2, all in all. It was awful. The actual game play is great played a lot like Doom. The Open world, RPG mechanics, Story, and pretty much everything else was terrible. It was also really short, its a day game. You don't do much with vehicles besides taking down convoys for parts and getting from A - B. It becomes too easy once you've upgraded your stuff. Its just as bad as far cry 5. I didn't even get all my powers or weapons (only shot gun, pistol and assault rifle), the map is so congested with crap that it makes exploring unenjoyable.

Rage 1 is really cheap on Steam right now. I think I'm gonna play that instead.

this is not Doom meet mad max. this is far cry meet mad max with 10% slice of Doom.

plus its graphics are terrible yet Doom 2016 3 years old still outshine it easily.

Rage 2 has better combat then Doom 2016 there I said it.

lol no. Rage 2 even on hard is incredibly easy i have not even died once.

Doom on nightmare is challenging. plus Doom Combat blow Rage 2 out of water easily.

I'm talking more in terms of fun factor at least for me, as cool as Doom's glory kills are it gets old pretty quickly I like having more variety in my combat .

Why couldn't we just have far cry 3 and leave it at that?

more like we could just have far cry 2 aka better game.

1. Yeah, I've already established this myself from watching videos.

2. I think Rage 1 looks great still. Don't really have an opinion about Rage 2 graphics, more than it looks ok but the physics seem to suck. A little twig can instantly stop your fast moving Monster Truck kind of bad.
