Radiant Silvergun coming to XBLA in 2011!

This was just announced at TGS. Currently, we only know that it will include a special Ikaruga mode, have HD graphics, and come out in spring 2011.Here are some screenshots:

It didn't die, it just went underground in the west, SHMUPs still have a large fanbase in the west and especially the east.

Wow now im really glad I spent 300$ on this game

NICE!!! 3 times as good as ikaruga, I definitely hope this makes it to the US (wouldn't doubt it seeing as almost every 360 xbl game is available world wide. this announced with a Guwange XBL release I'm definitely happy I decided to pick up a 360 this week. the shmup library has been phenomenal thus far.

now just gotto hope do don pachi resurrection and the muchi muchi pork/pink sweets bundle are region-free! otherwise I might have to snag a japanese 360 as well.

actually the 360 has been seeing a ton of shmups lately. I'm still looking to pick up deathsmiles. I've already picked up mushihimesama futari and espgaluda II. Guwange, radiant silvergun, and bangai-O HD: missle fury coming to XBL. Ketsui/do don pachi dai ou jou available on japanese 360s. Do Don Pachi ressurection and muchi muchi pork/pink sweets were both just recently announced. On the PS3, you can purchase do don pachi and don pachi on japanese psn. castle of shikigami 3 available/localized on the Wii.

cave's (one of the best shmup developers imo) games are just started to get localized in the US so the genre might just start picking up over here. I know it's not legitimate records, but deathsmiles actually sold better here in the US than it did in japan, but then again, they actually have the arcade machines.

The east loves these games. It does seem that xbox is getting them all. Death Smiles has been a blast :P

but just get the touhou series on the pc (but I'm sure you already have it )

the only level that I find difficult in ikaruga is stage 4 with the giantic circular mechanism. The rest of the game is pretty easy unless you play it as a puzzle game.

RSG on the other hand is insanely difficult.

I remember having that as a title in my GS level rank :)

Most of these ports have been random Naomi ports, there arent as many high quality ones as you think.GulliversTravel

It lloks like they went overboard with bloom, which is now the "make the game look better" bandage apparently.

Never heard of it, but by those screenshot i can safely assume its a bullet hell type of game?

i wonder if they plan on including the saturn mode (aka story mode) from the saturn version of this. it'd be cool to finally be able to play it in english, at least once. if not in english then i at least hope they include it period, excluding it would be a sin.

I really want this game on the Saturn, I have a Saturn, but I don't have 100-300 dollars to spend :(

The bump above seems appropriate, any news on this? I don't like Schmups but i know my childhood friend will be interested in this.

I love Ikaruga, how does this compare to it?
