Early DLC. Exclusive Content. Who wouldve ever thought there would be a day when the creators of Halo, are making games for PlayStation and giving it exclusive content. 

Xbox fanboys will try their hardest to downplay this, but this is a huge steal for Sony. 

There was a rumor yesterday that the deal is for 10 years too

I could care less because destiny is an MMO, and I hate those. But I must say it is rather lulzy.

This means little really, unless that "exclusive content" is a pretty big deal, which I doubt given the other examples presented during the conference.

No, both are bad but one is most definitely worse and paid online play is not it. You maintain single-player no matter what you do with Sony, Microsoft is attempting to overturn the first sale doctrine in the console space and that is a line that should NEVER be crossed.

Too bad the game looks awful. It is amazing that killzone shadow fall may be the best shooter on next gen.

That I can respect, I just have a hard time imagining someone getting an XBONE over a PS4 from a consumer rights perspective, but hats off to you for sticking to your guns.

That being said, I kind of sensed all along that SONY would end free online play. In that respect, PC is king for avoiding this tactic (to my knowledge at least). $5 a month is not a hefty fee, but can add up over the course of several years. However, PS+ has always had the bonus of free games, a value that has been praised by the gaming community. So much so that Microsoft has announced that they will be copying this very same model. I just hope that they allow you to pay the fee monthly as you go, as opposed to demand bulk payments. You may be into a game that is single player and would have no use for online for a while.

Anyone else remember the heady days when Sony fans would go apeshit every time MS announced a new exclusive DLC deal?

And it's hard to say if this is even really exclusive DLC. The fact they don't even use the word "content" suggests this is probably more marketing-related than anything else.
