I’ll eventually get each of the three consoles but right now the next Xbox system will probably be the first one that I get.

Xbox. Im so invested in the eco system, their first party has grown massively with studios that have made great games and they are pro consumer with BC and a more stable online network as far as consoles are concerned. I can buy a PS5 4-5 years into next gen to play the 3-4 must play exclusives much cheaper than owning it from day one and settling for that shit network.

Definitely Xbox next!

Switch and PC is all I need going forward next gen. PS4 ive hardly touched outside of four games so unless Sony really wows me next-gen Im not getting another PlayStation. Xbox has fun for the multiplats I do have for it, but I only bought one game this whole year for it. So unless MS wow's me too, Im not getting another Xbox either.

Don't know yet... now that I have a Switch (and loving it), it's kind of making me rethink everything. Due to certain lifestyle changes I'll be making next year (moving house/out of the city etc), having a portable system like Switch is going to be very handy for me. So I might end up keeping my X for a while and getting the "Switch 2" first instead of Scarlett.

But I'll have to see how it plays out.

Going to upgrade my PC next year.

Also, I still have a bunch of games to play on PS4, Xbone and Wii U, so I'll stick with those console for now. Not really interested in being an early adopter for next gen consoles.

Aside from my PC, I will most certainly continue with Nintendo. No need for a PS or Xbox when you have a PC. Nintendo at least has some original stuff.

Honestly, whomever makes the portable option is getting bought.

The rest doesn't mean as much. I may go back to Xbox next gen or stay on playstation. Can't decide atm.

Iv lost all interest in consoles and I doubt that will change. PC only again for me.

As for the poll, I went with: "I'll decide when I wait a while and see who comes with the best exclusives" and by saying that, I'll see what PS5 & next-gen Nintendo has to offer but then again, I might just use PS Now at the point of PS5 arrival.

I have an x1x, so I might go for a ps5 to see what Sony games look like in 4k.

I too have more games to play on PS4 and I still have so much to do. I won't be getting a PS5 anytime soon.

You'd miss out of holy 4k 60fps TLOU2 gameplay for blury 5yr old PS4 games in 720p at 30fps?

Depends on who innovates more.

Like, for consoles, I enjoy the games on switch more than the PS4.

Other than that, I may upgrade my CPU or my monitor at least in 2019.

The PC I build with Ryzen 7 2700X was meant to be my streaming PC anyways. Embrace the future.

And all that power...to play 720p at 30fps? not the way brah, but you'll be set for whatever MS delivers, they whore out everything day 1.

I voted the "wait and see" option but almost certainly I'll keep with PS cause its the only brand that has been consistent with its exclusives ever since the PS1 days with the Vita being their only bad mark

Don't worry, I'm just in the "wait & see" approach what Sony has in stores with PS5. I won't be buying it day one, but will keep an eye whatever exclusive games that will catch my fancy :)

Things that could influence my decision:

PS5 goes the XBone route with DRM (original plan)

New studios come through with really great games for Scarlet

Scarlet goes the DRM route that XBone did originally

Either become "Cloud-Based Console"

Either become discless.

Until we actually see these machines, I will remain skeptical of them. Bonus points to Microsoft for revealing their last console for over an hour while trying to stealth bomb gamers with all the bad news via the press. So, they get the extra skeptical treatment.

PS5 is guaranteed. I just don't know the when.

Why would you need a £300 CPU to stream?

Def using my PC. Probably getting PS5 if a great game like Bloodborne drops early in its life. If a switch 2/pro comes out, I'm getting that as well.

PS5 for sure. Don't need Xbox since I have pc. I'll consider Nintendo.

It's not just for streaming, I needed a good workstation and the Ryzen 7 2700X was just the right CPU for the job due to it's multitasking benefits. And not only that, I needed to upgrade a few of my components but keeping my GPU 1080Ti. I'm gonna be doing side projects which is work related and still gaming in 1440p, so it's the prefect build that fits my everything needs.

The only logical, common sense answer is number 5.

I'll not buy anything new for a couple of years, until the libraries have grown and there's the inevitable redesign. Buying the Switch in its first year was kind of an exception to the rule for me.

Don't need a poll for that. Peeking in most any thread at the top of the list shows me who the major fanboys are around here. Some of y'all are nuts. Everyone in this thread seems pretty cool though.
