It looks extremely boring after seeing RDR 2 and Spidey. Walk down a linear path. Shoot some demons. When one starts glowing orange press a button to watch a scripted melee attack. Rinse and repeat for 15 hours. Yawn.

Doom looks childish to me. Looks like an emo edgelord game tbh.

A simple dash and grapple makes an already fast paced game even more tactical and on speed. The new environment was great too... seeing that elevator to the giant BFG.

spiderman is arkham rip off with QTE after QTE in open world inspired by ubisoft game. nothing can be more repetetive than that.

if it was multiplat. no one would give a crap.

DOOM is old school shooter resurgence. a game with no regen health, cover, slowdown gameplay, cinematic and focus on excellent gameplay and level design.

the PC gameplay they show later looks more faster and more fun.

Spidey games have always sold well so people would still care. The Arkham games sold millions so a Spidey game of the same quality will no doubt do just as well if not better.

Doom's gameplay style is boring and outdated. The people that still care are 50 year olds wearing Metallica t-shirts.

Doom gameplay is a kind of gameplay that never get old. unlike sony games which consist of QTE and cutscenes.

sale is not equal to quality as last gen activision spiderman games suck and no one really care about them apart from spidey fans. they recieve low from critics too.

new spiderman just looks like the amazing spiderman game released in 2012.

Demons... a lot of them

Doomguy is much better name than Doom Slayer.

Marine is also a much better name. It was so cool everyone called him "Marine" in Doom 3.

My opinion as well. I loved the first game, and I'm sure it'll be the same with this, but I had to skim through the footage because of how boring it got.

but Doom slayer is more badass i mean when he went to UAC. everyone got scared. gotta love how he hang someone ID card to open the door and how he took a gun from a guard.

Of course it will be more fun to play than watch. The showcase did the job of showing you all the new skills and abilities/ weapons in action. Im not sure more cutscenes would have made it better... but the doom slayers arrival was a nice touch.

All I'm saying is that it didn't need to be 20 minutes long. Doom is pretty samey, so like a 3 minute trailer would have sufficed for me.

@Renegade_Fury: Yeah they did show a lot... but this was the big anticipated game of the whole Con. They probably felt they didnt want to skimp on a 3min trailer. Personally I thought it was a great reveal.

@enzyme36: Eh, I got the point relatively quickly, but I can understand if diehard fans are hyped and want to soak up as much footage as they can though.

Looks like that they've added a dodge mechanic with stamina.

But I'm not gonna buy it since First Person Shooter games become boring for me too fast.

I love Doom 2016, I kept replaying the Campaign like 4 times already, I'm now on the hype train with Doom: Eternal more so after watching this!!! I was so amaze on how Doom 2016 PC version was so optimize, I have no worries Eternal PC will be so amazing. If the rumors are true with Nvidia's new GPU, I wanna have a new GPU by the time Eternal arrives :)

I need new Heavy Metal in Doom Eternal Mick Gordon.

It does have a story. Doomguy help Dr. Samuel in the previous game and Samuel pulled a double-cross on Doomguy. Plenty of more stories to tell in Eternal since Dr. Samuel is still on the lose.

If you really want a story. Go watch the 2005 Doom movie XD It's one of my guilty pleasure film

I have DOOM. Beat it. I can't even remember why I was killing things in the first place. This will be the same. If they aren't even going to try to tell a good story, I'm not going to bother. Wolfenstein was way better.

wolfenstein has 20 minute of cutscene but tell terrible story. Doom story if you pay attention is much better.

here a scene where Doom slayer walk into UAC office is one of the most badass scene ever.

I really loved Doom slayers grapling hook and mobility. This also goes hand in hand with some bigger levels and better level design.

Seems like the perfect sequel: more of what everybody wants.

Gameplay looks great as expected. Love the new traversal mechanics and overall badass feel.

The most repetitive genre ever, yawn.

even bad FPS games offer better gameplay than most RPG.

And QTE kills. You silly casual. Be a man and play some real games.

what QTE kill? you have to shoot demon first. its not like you just press button and nothing.

I hope we also get more DOOM in VR. It was nice playing DOOM VFR with my PSVR aim controller right after playing DOOM on my PC in 4K Ultra.

? It's crazy how VR makes an immersive awesome game like DOOM even more immersive and heart-pounding.

Even with no new content and just new maps I would play again this awesomeness. So with this new toys, I'm sure I'm going to have a lot of fun.

Compared to likes of Dishonored and Prey, with a boatload of possibilities and room for experimentation, this is just...dull.

Doom 2016 was ok for an hour or two, but it became incredibly tedious and repetitive after it. Hell, even last two Assassin's Creeds are more engaging.

Now I'm hoping the Doom Slayer is willing to fight Nazis in a secret level.

Yes, Prey, Dishonored and Wolfenstein are all better than DOOM.

DOOM just sells more. So that is what they are making.
