The big show in Texas will commemorate the 25th anniversary of id Software's masterpiece.

QuakeCon 2019 "will include all-new Doom-inspired activities, events, exclusives, developer panels, hands-on demos, new information about Doom Eternal, and a few surprises we aren’t quite ready to talk about," Bethesda said. "All while continuing to feature everything you already love about QuakeCon."

Quakecon 2018 was much better than E3 2018. so expecting same. quakecon become bigger and better than E3 thanks to id software the greatest developer today. more info on Doom Eternal means Doom Eternal will release fall 2019. it wont release before july.

I really hope after Doom Eternal. they will make single player Quake 1 Reboot.

this event will destroy the entire E3 if they show more and more of Doom Eternal and end with just a simple Tease of Quake 1 Reboot. i would jump from the chair.

without Doom. you wont be playing 3D games and would still stick to 2d platformers.

Doom 1993 was the game that set the bar for 3d shooters. one of the most influncial game of all time.

LOL. Yeah, without DOOM no other studio would even attempt to go 3D. It's all thanks to DOOM that we are now playing 3D games. Like totally man.

when Doom 1 and 2 were a thing. console developers were making 2D side scroll platformers. it was Doom that inspired them to make 3D games. even your beloved ocarina of time wont happen without Doom.

@ghosts4ever: false. Doom was not the first FPS, and had no discernable influence on other 3D games which predated it (e.g. the myriad RPGs, flight sims, racing games, etc).

Wolf 3d was first FPS. Doom was not. but Doom was first FPS that influnce a genre. flight sims were a thing sure but Doom influnce 3D action games mostly not just FPS.

before First person shooters were a thing. FPS games were called Doom clones rather than wolf 3d clones.

It's hard to be excited about anything related to Doom after the last wave shooter shit show.

its like saying if bill gates didnot invent windows anyone can.

one person has to pioneer in anything. it was id software and john carmack and john romero that pioneer first 3D shooters and other developers got influnce from them. some even make them better like valve influence from quake to make Half life 1 and make it better. HL1 use engine based on quake engine. as a result i just cant imagine gaming without id software.

this looks like wave shooter? its enemy variety, no arena lockdown from previous game, excellent fast paced non stop combat.

Its actually free general admission now! Have a buddy who lives near Dallas who went last year, said it was great. This year will be my first time going.

I played the Demo for Doom 2016 and thought it was good enough to purchase, after an hour of playing the full game I realised id practically played all the game has to offer in the demo, repeated to me over and over in a slightly different arena setting. Doom 2016 did one thing right, the fast-paced gameplay, the rest of the game was tripe. A demo fooled me before, I won't let a trailer fool me again.

my friend, you were bashing Doom because it looks too slow and one of those who were judging it based on MP beta.

Doom 2016 is perfect. it only needed one thing to break arena lockdown and they are doing it. having set on earth, entire new engine id tech 7, gunplay looks more amazing, etc.

the E3 demo was slower paced

final game turn out to be much better and more upgrade than E3 2015 demo.

if it was ubisoft game. it would be reverse. only id software can do such magic.

@pelvist: yeah I'm not getting on the hype train yet, gonna let it come out and wait on the price drop, doom 2016 was a good game, but the hype out wieghed how good it really was. I agree Doom 2016 had alot of rinse and repeat going on.

This thread got ugly fast. I’m just here to say hell yeah to more Doom! Doom has always been pure high speed fun and I’m stoked for Doom Eternal. ID was the first to do it right and continue to do it right with the Doom franchise.
