it's like everyone i knew had like 2-3 xbox360 cause keeps getting the RROD, which suckss.. my first console last gen was xbox360 but got the RROD at 2008 while i was playing Halo 3. after that i never bought a xbox360 again since i knew like almost everyone gets it a lot. few months later i bought a Wii then a PS3 in 2009, both are still running great now

My 360 got the RRoD on me... I don't remember when. Sent it in and got it shipped just fine. Never ran into the problem after that.

My 60 GB PS3 died on me as well; it was after five years so I paid for the exchange of a slim. Has worked great, no problems since.

I didn't vote cause neither has broke. I sold my launch 360 to help pay for a slim model. My launch 360 started to get "disk read errors" for select games which was starting to get irritating (5 years). The slim model has been running like a champ since I've had it (2 years)

Had one RROD on me. Just out of warranty, too.

Ok, I've never owned a 360 but maybe you guys could answer a question. One failure, sure, it could happen to any electronic device. Beyond that, and some of you having 5 or more failures within a few years.... why did you keep buying them? Shouldn't it have been apparent that they had shoddy construction?

To be fair, here's a break down of every system I've had break on me:

- PS1 - had to turn it upside down for it to read discs.

- Gamecube - stopped reading discs

- PS3 launch 60GB - disc drive failure

Only one of each of those broke on me an I've had more than a dozen game systems over the past 27 years. Why is it suddenly acceptable to gamers to have constantly failing hardware?

3 360's. 1 from launch, which RROD so I got it replaced. I then however traded it in for an Elite. That one got RROD just after the warranty ran out so I could not get it repaired by Microsoft, so I repaired it myself. It worked fine for two weeks then died again. Then I read that Microsoft had extended their warranty so I chanced it and sent the console to them, but they returned it to me saying it had been tampered with (which was obviously gonna happen), so I chucked it in the skip and got a PS3 which I have had no problems with. However I mainly game on PC and so far the only part that needs replacing on that is my mouse.

This topic was discussed to death at the height of the 7th gen. There's no need to rehash it at the end of it.
