why are people complaining about all the ports coming to the psp?  ports can be great if done right.  many great games on the gba were ports of older games.  it just has to be done right without all the bugs and load times etc.  personally i would love to see a ffvii port on the psp or any other ps ff on psp just like the gba and ds final fantasy ports.

I think it's more of a reaction against PSP people who complain about ports on DS.

Amusing really that they each use the same arguments against each other.

It's ok to have some ports but not ok to have a whole system lineup full of them.

exactly.

just because the PSP is almost as powerful as a PS2 doesnt mean developers should just go & dump console ports on it.

Ports aren't as bad as sheep would like it to be. Ports are only widening the selection of software with original, casual, and popular games.

Ports are good, yes?

Hows about:
    Burnout DS
    RE DS
    MGS: Twin Snakes
    HL2(Xbox)

The only port worth mentioning is Soul Calibur 2. A brilliant game over 3 consoles with very small differences. The differences attributed it to make the game better on their respected consoles.

The PSP's problem isn't ports. It's the fact that it's too similar to the PS2. Developers have the capacity to make different games for it but thats limited with what the PSP can do and whats already been done with the PS2.

But you see they aren't ports or spinoffs of 20 year old games just current gen ones ,that's why they're so bad.

The problem with PSP ports is that most of them are shovelware (much like the Wii), and there are just too many of them outnumbering the original library of PSP games.

Another factor is that PSP has piss-poor software sales and devs arent going to want to invest hundreds of thousands - millions in a PSP project if it's going to sell like trash. This is why we get junk like Parappa and Valkyrie Profile dime-a-dozen, while gems like Tales Of The World and Portable Ops are like trying to find a few needles in a haystack.
