PSA: PS Plus Collection being removed in May

Time to download these games!! In my case, I own almost all of them lol\

Sony announced that the PlayStation Plus Collection will be removed from the PlayStation Plus subscription on May 9. However, members can still redeem the titles from the collection until that date and continue to access them afterward as long as they remain subscribers to the service.

The collection has been a perk for PlayStation 5 subscribers since 2020, but it will soon no longer be available. As for the list of games being removed, they are a mix of first and third-party ones. They include:

PlayStation Worldwide Studios:

• Bloodborne
• Days Gone
• Detroit: Become Human
• God of War
• Infamous Second Son
• Ratchet and Clank
• The Last Guardian
• The Last of Us Remastered
• Until Dawn
• Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Third-party games:

• Batman: Arkham Knight
• Battlefield 1
• Call of Duty: Black Ops III - Zombies Chronicles Edition
• Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
• Fallout 4
• Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition
• Monster Hunter: World
• Mortal Kombat X
• Resident Evil 7 biohazard

While 2017’s Persona 5 was part of the collection, it was removed back in May 2022. Along with this announcement of the rest of the PlayStation Plus Collection going away, Sony also revealed February 2023’s free PlayStation Plus games, which include Evil Dead: The Game, OlliOlliWorld, Mafia: The Definitive Edition, and Destiny 2: Beyond Light.

Just got the mail stating this. Their sub tier higher than essential must be so miserable, they're removing features from the lowest sub tier to make the other tiers look more attractive😂Not gonna work on me, buddy🤣🤣🤣

Can we just agree that any tiers over Essential is a massive waste of space ripoff garbage? Its so bad, i feel bad for being a Sony Professional.

This is the free games that Sony gave to PS5 owners when it first launched.

I know. A perk for being subbed to play video games online lmao. Now that's removed. Looks kinda pathetic compared to GP, and GP doesn't even have the likes of Atomic Heart as of yet.

If I recall this was an incentive for purchasing a PS5 at launch you'd get these offered for free. When I got mine few weeks back they were still offered, but yeah like OP said Persona 5 wasn't on there but I wasn't concerned as P5R was added to Game Pass.

Honestly I'm surprises it has gone on this long. But yeah seemed more a PS5 promotion when it started and now it's being referred to as a PS Plus perk. So are these available to everyone with PS Plus or just those who purchased a PS5?

Meh... you can grab most of those games for sub 20 anyways, and most people already have them added anyways. If it means they have a little extra cash on hand to beef up extra and premium I'm all for it.

@lamprey263: From what I recall, these games are only offered on the PSN through the PS5 storefront. I tried to claim them before I got my PS5 but couldn't find it offered anywhere (even through the app).

Hopefully this means a different list of games will be offered as a bonus (though I doubt it). It would be nice if they provided several PSVR2 games in a similar fashion to drive insensitive for people to get the PSVR2 early.

It was a decent perk for those new to playstation.

@Zero_epyon: As a long time Playstation player it was an awesome perk for me since I only had 4 of those titles prior. Sad to see them go but it was great while it lasted.
