PSA: 46 games being delisted from the Xbox 360 Marketplace

Microsoft has announced plans to delist various games and associated DLC from the Xbox 360 marketplace next month.

The exact number of games varies per region. For example, in the US 46 games will be removed, while in the UK 44 games will be delisted (see full lists below).

Games set to be removed from the digital marketplace include entries in the Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty, Dark Souls, Far Cry, Left 4 Dead, Mass Effect, Prince of Persia, Skate, Splinter Cell and Witcher series.

Removals will begin on February 7, 2023. Microsoft noted that once purchased, players can always redownload games from their Xbox 360 Download History.

A Microsoft spokesperson also told Gematsu: “These titles will no longer be purchasable on the Xbox 360 Store only, and titles that are available to be purchased on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S Stores will remain purchasable.

“You will still be able to play discs or previously downloaded games on your Xbox 360 and modern consoles if they are backwards compatible titles. For more information on the games impacted in your region, visit here.”

I definitely would recommend Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. Both excellent games.

Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are both amazing games. Especially Lost Odyssey. They both need some love and brought to the new store or a remaster. These games shouldn't be lost to time.

FYI: If you own these games you can still download and play them whenever you want to so if you want these games then you should buy them before they get delisted. I already own all the ones that I want from this list so I’m good.

Will still be purchasable on Xbox One store so no need to rush to acquire them unless you only have an Xbox 360. Weird though that this is only an issue with Xbox 360 store.

Not sure if still the same issue I had but I was unable to purchase RUSE through Xbox One store even though it was on BC but I could purchase it through a web browser. But if it is removed on Xbox 360 store and it's not purchasable on Xbox One store still that could be problematic maybe purchasing it through a browser as it was a web access to Xbox 360 store.

There's nothing that stands out here that I want that I don't already have. But for now, no rush.

You can still download them if you own them or buy the physical copy

Well, with Nintendo shutting down Wii U eShop, only a matter of time with MS appearing to get ready to shut down the 360's shop.

@nintendoboy16: difference is MS will still let you play and download all these games on newer hardware. You just won't be able to buy them on the 360.

Nintendo eShop getting closed down is straight up purgatory for The 3DS which sucks.

They’re just taking these games off the Xbox 360 online store. I doubt there’s much activity there any way.

It’s amazing the store is still open.

PS and Nintendo shut down stores for old consoles much quicker.

This has no impact on back compat, this is removing the ability to purchase these titles from the 360 store front.

delisted means you can not buy digitally, not that you can not still play them if you own them (digital or otherwise) so why would someone be upset over this?

@randy_lahey: Silly Billy. BC still works with all those games. Even if you picked up a physical copy, it’d still work. You just can’t buy them on your 360’s marketplace.
