I’m building a mini PC that will DESTROY the next gen consoles. My cutoff for completion is end of May, and it will have all the features of the next gen consoles. Momentum means nothing if consumers are able to replicate the tech a year+ in advance.
I will keep the build under 600 watts TDP
I will use a Ryzen CPU
The build will be ray tracing ready
I will only use ssd’s
Digital only
Cerny can kiss my ass after this one...
Why mini? Does that term change anything other than the size of the case and mother board?
On PC many times building a Mini PC usually mean problems,as some cases are to small to fit a normal size GPU,and i don't think you will get an APU more powerful than the ones in next gen consoles.
Hell mini PC cases ten to be even more expensive some times than bigger ones.
Just built a normal one you are going to use the same components anyway.
Is totally doable to do so but it will cost you more i am sure,of course not in the long run as you save $60 a year from online fees.

Entirely different market... The Switch doesn't have a competitor. A the rumoured smaller and cheaper Switch SKU will bring in a LOT more sales for Nintendo because some people can't justify the price for a console with PS3 ish graphics just to play Nintendo games and a cheaper model will help sway the people on the edge.
The PS5 and X2 are both in danger on the other hand... If Googles gaming services does what it says it will it will disrupt the sales of next generation consoles by a chunk, not to mention that with the rumoured specifications and the fact that when asked about price they said it will be appealing based on the hardware for gamers, chances are the PS4 will NOT be a $399 console.
Just my two cents.
Believe it or not is not a different competitor the switch is a hybrid but still is a console as well.
That is the problem cutting cost on the switch is problematic because of the screen, same shit happen with the wii U they can't lower cost as easy as sony and MS do.
There are many variables in motion here.
But i don't see the switch slowing down any time soon,in fact i would not be surprise if it outsell the PS5 a year or 2.
The PS2 did it to the 360 and the PS4 also has outsell the switch so is possible.
