PS5 to Cost More Than XSX

If the PS5 costs more than a much more powerful XSX, then the PS5 is the 2013 Xbone in 2020.

PS4 was way more powerful than the xbone and 100 dollars cheaper.

It didn't matter some idiots bought the xbone anyway. Same thing will happen this time.

I hope that's the case so that Sony can throw MS some bone.

I'm expecting the same price for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 but who knows.

Not that it matters because the game is 6 months away at a minimum. By the time it comes out, it’ll be 4K/30.

Isn't RE8 like years away (at least a year n a half)? There is no way that game is coming out in around half a year.

Not disputing that the trailer was framy. But to say the devs are having trouble with 1080p 60 when their previous game ran at that same res and performance on a base PS4 is strange. Like what are they trying to do at 1080?

I think anything more than $500 for PS5 and Sony will be pushing it.

Microsoft can afford the hit. Sony has the games and can arguably charge more because they deliver. If the gap is too big though... that will turn people off.

Time will tell but I think this is one of those times to take rumor with a grain of salt.

That in bold is actually funny you know that screen showing 44% gap in GPU is talking about CU numbers not about actual flop performance.

The PS4 had 50% more CU than the xbox one,it only translated into 40% more power,the xbox series X has 44% more CU but actual power difference is 18.3% to 21.3% IF the GPU is run under 2.23ghz.

Great so you actually believe the PS5 is having problems running a game at 1080p 60FPS thanks for letting me know that detail.

I actually worry about third party devs taking time to optimize PS5 ports since it is the weaker system, and achieve parity, but not bother as much with Series X since they expect the power to brute force lack of optimization, and sloppy Series X development will show.

@NathanDrakeSwag: what makes you think it will be so weak? If the TFLOPs and CPU rumors are true it should be similar to or even better than the X1X

The Xbox One X was discontinued because next gen is coming in a few short months and it will become obsolete. The Xbox Series X won't make it obsolete because the price will be much higher. However, the Xbox series S will be cheaper and more powerful than the X1X. Why would anyone buy an X1X when they can get a XSS that is more powerful and will run all next gen games for the full duration of next gen and be considerably cheaper?

Microsoft can't just make the X1X cheaper than the XSS because the newer hardware will actually be cheaper to manufacture. It makes all the sense in the world for them to discontinue the X1X.
