PS5 Second Half 2021

Horizon Forbidden West may or may not be released this year and Sony is unwilling to commit to this year. Which is understandable. They want to have a great product. With that said, what games are you looking forward to from Sony for the rest of the year?

As far as I know, Sony isn't making any for the rest of 2021 outside of third party timed exclusives. They blew their wad with Destruction All Stars and Sackboy.

That cannot be correct. Sony, has 25 games being developed.

Can't wait for next gen to start in 2023.

I'm gonna maybe even wait on ps4 stuff for a while too. Just buy the ps5 eventually and backlog the hell out of it.

@Pedro: I was under the impression HFW will release next year? I don't intend to see it this year but than again, Sony hasn't done their after E3 press so who knows.

As far as I know there's nothing coming from Sony of interest to me for the rest of the year. That said, I'm holding off on buying my annual birthday/fathers day game as I simply don't have much time these days to actually game, I'm still in the middle of the first Mass Effect and playing more Dead by Daylight with the Resident Evil crossover.

Thus, Sony could have a AAA release every other month and I'd still be on hold while I catch up with what I already have.

Nothing to be honest. If Horizon not showing up in 2021 I think there is no other PS exclusive games that is even planned for 2021. My most anticipated game GT7 also been moved to 2022 so its gonna be pretty bare on the exclusive front this holiday.

If that is the case, how long before the next release of a Sony game for the platform? 2022 Q1, Q2, Q3 or Q4?

@Pedro: recently sony really likes to release their titles around Feb-June. Horizon, Bloodborne, The Order 1886, God of War and Detroit releasing during this period. If not then its around October.

@sakaixx: I am thinking GT7 gets moved to 2023.

There's also Kena Bridge of Spirits despite its just a console exclusive, its the best as PS5 owners are going to get for the rest of the year 2021. I'll be really surprised if HFW will make it this year...before BOTW2 takes all the glory lol.

@x_hedon: it may be a PS4/PS5 game too. Releasing a brand new game on a 9-10 year old console in 2023 wow.

Console exclusives don't count according to Sony fannies rule, "best played on PC." 😉

deathloop is the only thing i'm looking forward to short term for ps5. just me and ghost interested in it apparently. fully expect it to continue in arkane's proud tradition of creating great games no one buys

I'm guessing they have at least one or two games that will release between now and the end of the year even if they were 3rd party exclusives or even just timed. Most AAA games don't interest me all that much anyways. It's usually the games that pop up out of nowhere, free to play, or ones that get little to no press and drop in early access or get a small trailer a couple days before launch. Hell, that's mostly what I like on Xbox as well.

Yes! It is the absence of Sony games for the rest of the year. There is hope for some that Sony would have megalithic announcement for secret games launching later this year.

@davillain-: Kena is only a timed console exclusive though. Looks like Xbox will get it next year.

I'm willing to stream my playthrough of Metroid Dread for any Sony fans without a Switch so they can at least watch some great first party gaming this holiday.

Besides Horizon I don't think there's much left, for now at least. But they've been able to release stuff this year so it's fine. There will be more than enough for me to play on PS5 with Deathloop, Kena, and Battlefield 2042. Though I'm considering getting Battlefield on PC.

PS5 already has me occupied with titles, but I would be interested in Death Stranding Director's Cut and I will probably get Lost Judgement at or near launch. I liked the first one a bit! Also will play NEO: The World Ends With You. Also interested in Back 4 Blood.

So, old game and multi-platform games. I thought the PS5 was all about the exclusives, more specifically Sony exclusives. Seems like you are running dry for the next 6 months, but you can always replay Returnal and Ratchet for the 200th time. 😎

I didn't watch Sony's E3 presentation, but with a brand new console and so many world-class IPs, I'm sure Sony has a killer line-up for the next 12 months.

Did anyone catch the presentation? I don't remember seeing the highlights or surprise drops.
