Nintendo Switch Online falls to No.2

Horizon Forbidden West is back at No.1 in the UK boxed charts, three months after it was first released.

The game's sales rose 94% week-on-week following the release of a new official PS5 hardware bundle. That means Nintendo Switch Sports is down to No.2 after three weeks at No.1. The Switch exclusive saw physical sales drop 37% week-on-week.

The arrival of more PS5 stock has boosted sales of other titles on the platform, including Gran Turismo 7, which is at No.10 following a 38% sales rise, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which re-enters the chart at No.15 after sales jumped 275%.

It's a very quiet period for boxed game releases (and one that's set to last all summer), but there is one new game in the charts -- Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong, which debuts at No.20.

Back to the Top Five, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga slips to No.3 after a 30% sales slide, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe holds No.4 despite sales dropping 16%, while Pokemon Legends: Arceus is up one place to No.5 following a 5% sales increase.

Last week's new release, Evil Dead - The Game, falls from No.5 to No.12 after a 51% sales drop.

How does one force one to buy something that they don't want to?

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Minecraft Switch Edition, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Animal Crossing New Horizons still charting very well is always impressive to see.

While true, the only way you could get a PS5 is paying higher than the $499 PS5 price tag because you had to buy it bundled with Horizon, which wasn't free in the bundle. It was marked up. Though it is a $20 savings, paying $50 more instead of $70 more.

You could always just buy the console by itself, from PS Direct, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, GameStop...it's not like they stopped making only PS5 consoles for sale without a game bundled with it. Your logic is illogical.

You could just not redeem the game and sell the code online. Or wait for a plain PS5. Sony's not reaching into people's wallets and sending them a console against their will.

Horizon has more legs than Elden ring it seems. At least when it comes to boxed numbers.

Elden Ring has sold about 15 million copies since March, the best selling game in the last 12 months even beating out CoD. That's pretty good for a niche game.

Tell me why anyone would want a Series S? I'll tell you. That shitty little underpowered speaker is the only regularly available gateway into next-gen for people right now. People have been settling for that thing in droves, it's a trash alternative. Talk about taking advantage. If it weren't for the pandemic that thing would be lining up landfills already

I'll be honest. I'm glad I kinda waited for a possible PS5 bundle even though that wasn't the plan from the start but glad Sony is doing these earlier then I thought. That said, I hope to get one of these bundles...especially for a game like HFW. If I must pay a high price for the console, I will.
