What is the game supposed to be about? So far I looks as though it has very little purpose or much of a point at all. If anyone knows and can fill me in, that would be appreciated, because right now this looks underwhelming to me. f it DOES wind up with Zelda like gameplay I am definitely interested though..
It's definitely a beautiful game, and I will be downloading it day 1. Seems like a mix between Journey & ICO. But man.., I can't help but agree with a few of the comments.

Same thing I was thinking. Wind Waker got bashed to no end for it's artstyle by cows.

This. Also, i don't understand why even mentioning Mario in the OP, oh well...typical cow stuff i guess.
The art style is amazing. It's definitely up there at the top.

I'm not sure what they showed at E3, but it obviously wasn't real gameplay. However it actually didn't look "stunning" at all, so I believe it is actual in engine footage. When they showed the overworld from a distance my first though was "Skyrim"....and more presicely, Skyrim on XBOX 360.
Zelda textures are like PS2 graphics. LOOK TEXTURE FIRST, THEN LOOK ART. YOU LOST
Zelda is being made by a world class studio. Rime is a bunch of indie devs.
So... Microsoft is richer than Sony and Nintendo. Microsoft can easily buy Sony and Nintendo. This means Xbox One is best console ever. (BY YOUR LOGIC)

So far, it kind of looks like Journey, where most of the experience comes from the exploration and the discovery, it looks similar to Ico too, but not that much since in that game you had combat and it seems Rime doesn't have any of that, however is too early to tell at this point.

That is what I was thinking too.... sad really. I wont "play" a game like that. Regardless of art styles it seems uninspired to me.... which is hilarious that others find it so "inspired" lol... no. To each their own... I guess I just miss the point of experiences like those.
