Not really a surprise. After Jorny won GOTY last year and minecraft being the juggernaut it is, indie games can hang with the big dollar games any day of the week.

I hope that these typical blockbuster games progressively get knocked down pegs through the generation, and people start to want to play good games again. Until then we're going to keep seeing FPS, Uncharted type games and the typical "open world" crap over and over and over.

yup...cows arent having too much luck on the scores. without infamous, i knew ps4s exclusive launch wasnt going to be that good. its all the multi plats thats going to carry ps4 at launch

According to the reviews the PS4 versions are the Best-Of, with enhanced Dual-Shock 4 support and, of course, the visuals.

I'm confused how these games are getting these scores, especially rerelease flower which was a shit game to begin with and now its getting the same score even though its a rerelease?
Seems to me its getting scores just because its ""indie"" and not because of actual quality.

The whole point I'm tyring to make is based on the low-budget vs. high-budget theme.

That's just an internet myth. You can go to Metacritic and see their average score is 69 counting 12,286 reviews and they tend to underrate games by 3.9 points compared to the average. Not far from GS's 68 average and 5.3 points lower than the average.

Not really surprising. Indie games provide things that big budget games just can't. The freshest of experiences.

Not surprising. I don't get the hate on indies. Maybe it's because Microsoft gave it a bad name by making their indie games look like meh mini games. Innovation and great experience don't need a publisher or a big budget to make, but simply the imagination behind it.

Now you understand why Sony wanted to bring in more Indie developers lol. PS4 should just be an Ouya and stick to showcasing these Independent games.

I don't see how this is really a surprise to anyone. Indie games have been providing more innovative gameplay experiences than AAA titles for a while now. Indie games are where we get truly new gameplay these days. They take risks. AAA devs take little risk cause of increased costs.
