So what do you think a PS4 game would look like? Will PC still be in the lead? And how much further can they possibly evolve video game graphics?

Don't know.

PC will always be in the lead, because hardware will continue to evolve for the system, whilst the consoles stick to the "fixed hardware" solution.

^^This^^ Until the day comes when you can manually upgrade GPU's for consoles.

I think we should be very happy if games will look like Crysis while running at 60fps. Linear games like Uncharted 4 will probably look amazing:)

I'm not really worried about the graphics because they will look good over this generation no matter what. I'm just worried about how much more the CPU will be able to handle, which is hopefully a ton more than this generation.

pc will always be in the lead until the day nvidia and ATI stop releasing new tech.

Nothing less than this from day 1 is what we should expect.

Which won't be a console anymore...

I can see this debate in the future. "are upgradeable consoles, consoles?" Yes. Because there is no solid OS involved.

"Will PC still be in the lead?"

Yes, because unlike consoles, the hardware isn't fixed, it's customizable.

Can someone point to articles about new console development? From what I've heard, it will be a really long while until anything new even begins to surface.

Allot of interest in the next generation lately, I thought people wanted this gen to last as long as possible?

Well, Unless Sony somehow figures out to make a ridiculously good hardware, without it being expensive, then PC will be ahead of them as expected

PS4 graphics will probably be identical to the next gen Xbox "720". Future versions of the cell have been discontinued and 2012 will have better Cpu's and much, much better Gpu's. So we can assume the PS4 won't be using the cell, along with the fact developing for it was increasing deadlines and costing more.

So now the comparison should be PC versus Next Gen Consoles.

Because of games like Bio Shock, Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, Gears of War 2 and so many others, we can assume Next Gen games will have Crysis like graphics at best. Considering people this gen were already doing comparisons with games like Uncharted 2 and Crysis.

Though we probably won't be getting open world games with Crysis graphics, just those kinds of graphics on linear games such as Modern Warfare 2 or Halo 3.

To answer the next two questions.

PC will always be in the lead as long as you are given the option to switch out one part for another, or until consoles are allowed to do that.

Imagine real life looking graphics, virtual reality. We have no idea if the limit is anywhere that far, but you could expect something similar but just on a Tv screen ( the look of real life, not the virtual reality part ).

Is that your definition of PC?
