Why have a retro console when you can play the games on current hardware?🙄

Saturn because it's games seem to be going WAY up in price, and as a fighting game fan the Saturn is a beast (if we include import games).

I agree with this 100%

Mini consoles based on emulation are a waste of resources. At most we could have a modern controller and a compilation pack.

I'm very happy the mini console trend seems to have died. It's dumb.

Mini consoles themselves can generally be modded. In the case of PS1 it turned a hunk of shit into a great gaming machine with a simple USB.

In the case of Saturn, emulation is a pain in the ass, and I believe many titles were never released in the West.

If they released a mini console without the bullshit attached and a good selection games, very little prob handing over some dosh.

TBH I'd rather the console wasn't mini but a 1/1 replica shell.

@uninspiredcup: If modding and upgradability was part of the package from the start I would feel differently.

Saturn, duh. There are so many lost gems on it like Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shining Force Scenarios 1-3, Dragon Force, and so on, that have never been ported to anything, and that's including its plethora of fighting games, shmups, and superior versions of 2D multiplats.

A PS2 mini would just comprise of games already available on everything.

Saturn was one of my first home consoles as a kid, so I have soft spot for it. But PS2 overall just has the best library. So PS2. PS2 has crazy good library

Saturn gets the vote because I wanna play Nights into Dreams.

(I'd kill for a remake on the Switch)

Saturn, for the shmups alone. I think some were re-released for xb360, but I don't have one of those either.

Saturn Mini, after that PS Mini disaster I wouldn’t trust Sony again.

Neither. Xbox mini with the REAL version of Halo CE and original S controllers. $200 for console, $40 for the controller... money.

I’d want the Saturn mini. Has some really great games that just aren’t available anywhere like Dragon Force. Very cool game that I wouldn’t mind replaying. Honestly though would just rather they sell those games on current systems instead though.

@davillain-: I have a copy on steam. Was free at one point I think. I don't know if it plays ok (be surprised if the port doesn't suck). But you could check it out

Definitely Saturn mini. Mind you, part of it is because I still have my ps2. But the truth is almost none of the ps2's NA library is worth playing on a ps2 now since the best games have been ported or remade or remastered or simply far surpassed by a sequel. Saturn is a weirdo, with more games you can't experience elsewhere as often

Saturn. An underrated console, but with a large quality library of 2D and 3D games. Especially if you include Japanese titles that never made it to the West... It was ironically Sega's best-selling console in Japan. The Saturn represents the peak of 2D sprite gaming, along with plenty of 3D goodness.

I'd like to see some of the Japanese Saturn titles finally get localized, e.g. Lunar 1-2, Grandia, Sakura Wars 1-2, Street Fighter Zero 3, YU-NO, Machi, Policenauts, Eve Burst Error, Dragon Force 1-2, Nanatsu Kaze, etc.

If we're talking a Saturn line-up which many were ports of Sega arcade titles I'd rather just get proper modern ports of those games.
