I'm going to do little talking and show the proof. Note: launch games are in a window a month form the release date of the console.

PS2: Tekken Tag Tourny (9.6), SSX (9.4), Madden 2001 (9.1), FIFA 2001 (9.0), Guitar Freaks 3rd Mix (9.0), Smuggler's Run (8.0), Midnight Club: Street Racing (8.4), Unreal Tourny (8.2), Timesplitter (8.4), ESPN: Track and Field (8.1), Moto GP (8.1), DOA2: Hardcore (8.9), Ready 2 Rumble: Round 2 (8.0), Sky Odysessy (8.2),

Xbox360: Kameo (8.7), NBA 2k6 (8.3), Call of Duty 2 (8.8 ), Need for Speed Most Wanted (8.4), Condemed (8.0), Project Gotham Racing (8.8 ), Perfect Dark Zero (9.0), Ridge Racer 6 (8.1), King Kong (8.2),

PS3: Call of Duty (8.3), Resistance: Fall of Man (8.6), NHL 2k7 (8.3), Tiger Woods (8.2), NBA 2K7 (8.2), Ridge Racer 7 (8.0), Fight Night Round 3 (8.2)

Wii: Truma Center (8.0), Super Monkey Ball (8.3), Zelda: TP (8.8 ), Rayman Raving Rabbit (8.0),

PS2: 5 AAA, 9 AA
360: 1 AAA, 8 AA
PS3: 7 AA
Wii: 4 AA

I'm not including the 4th and 5th generation of gaming. If I did, PS2 still would win. What's so great about the PS2 launch is the diversity of its library. Can we all agree the PS2 was the best launch?

Just because a game got a good score doesn't mean everyone likes it. I don't like any of the PS2 games you listed.

I don't care what the rest of System Wars thinks. My opinion is the only one that matters to me. I don't even look at review scores. I am capable of forming my own opinions about games.

Nintendo 64 launched with Super Mario 64. That game alone owns every PS2 game you listed.

Review scores from Gamespot does not equal proof. An example would be the perfect score they gave Tony Hawk 3 soon after launch. Its an opinion. The PS2 launch was grand, the PS3 should have looked at that or the Xbox 360 launch for inspiration.

Why would the PS3 look at the 360 for inspirarion? Since scores are not proof, Who's to say PS3 launch is better than the 360? Honestly, I think the PS3's launch was better than the 360. It had way better games to choice from.

The 360 had a launch window which included Oblivion and DOA4. Saying that, the PS2 list is very impressive.

I've always thought however, that the Dreamcast had the best.

Since scores don't matter anymore, Gears of War flopped, and Resistanced owned! (resistance really does own) But to be real, Gears of War (i'm sure) is a great game (i'll be playing it soon i'm sure). but just for sheer lulz, I'll say GeOW sucks, and resistance wins! :P

Sure, if you follow Tien's logic then the PS3 could be considered better. However, you've already said that scores equals proof, therefore by your own admission the 360 had a better launch. If you disagree, your point about the PS2 is simply wrong. By saying the PS2 had a better launch due to scores, you also must admit that the 360 had a better one then the PS3. So what is it? PS3 or 360?

I was using Tien logic, to prove a case. I'll take the fact 360 is better than PS3, if you take the fact PS2 was the best launch ever. Going off a score base.

Actually, you still haven't proved it was the best launch ever. You'd have to get reviews for all the launch games for every console, something you haven't yet done. Your proof was bad to begin with. Personally, I think the Dreamcast had a better launch.

Nintendo 64 : Mario 64 (9.4), Pilotwings (8.9) PS1: Twisted Metal (8.5), Warhawk (8.9) DC: 1 AAAA, 2 AAA, 2AA N64: 1AAA, 1AA PS1: 2 AA By scores, PS2 still beats the competition. PS1 had the worst launch at of all of them. We all know how that turned out.

Thwe wii only beat the Dreamcast by 100,000 sales. I wouldn't say shattered. Also, System Wars does not go by sales. I personally think the rule is lame, but it's SW.

I'll give it to the PS2 (and Dreamcast).  Based on experience and scores, I'd take the launch of either one over the PS3 and 360.

PS3: 7 AA
Wii: 4 AA

I'm not including the 4th and 5th generation of gaming. If I did, PS2 still would win. What's so great about the PS2 launch is the diversity of its library. Can we all agree the PS2 was the best launch?

Games. Wow. Wii shattered sales records, so it had the most sucessful launch (PROOF)

Thwe wii only beat the Dreamcast by 100,000 sales. I wouldn't say shattered. Also, System Wars does not go by sales. I personally think the rule is lame, but it's SW.

system wars go by sales your just saying that since your cant back up your ps3 at the moment or psp

I'm not going to lie, I loved PS2 and Sony back then. If they had the same aproach again with the PS3 they would be winners again.

There's a saying here in Brazil that a winning team shouldn't be changed, and I think it's right.

Now Sony is simply too arrogant for their own good.

But I agree with the PO, the PS2 had the best launch lineup ever. A lot of good (maybe not great) games, it didn't have only one extremely good game like most consoles, the average of quality in PS2 game lineup makes it the best.

What? If I wanted to back up my PS3 in Sales, I would be right in saying it's beating the Xbox360. You can deny the lie, but you can't deny the truth.

You right, Xbox360 didn't have the best launch. Not even second best.
