Totally agree but that's not the console's fault, that's the change in developers. I was so excited for Crash/Spyro on PS2 and was disappointed when I finally played them.
True. The PS1 just was seriously the greatest console of all time. Id say the PS2 is the second greatest.
When games go from 2D -> 3D, the amount of sheer stuff that comes out of that transition is just pure win, nothing else will ever be able to outperform that era.
PS2 had some awesome games like God of War God of War II Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater ICO Shadow of the Colossus Resident Evil 4 Silent Hill 2 Gran Turismo 3 A-SPEC Gran Turismo 4 ALL the Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter and Sly Cooper games All the GTAs Killzone SOCOM so I think the PS2 was better

Fear Effect for the Ps1 alone beats half those games
I was massively excited for the ps2 after seeing the tech demos that were shown b4 release but after having actually got one i was a little underwhelmed by the experience, it just was missing that special 'something' that the original ps had for me.
I dont think i could go back to actually playing the games on it again for a long time though after downloading a couple of classics off the PS store and being reminded just how pixellated they actually were but the memories i have of the time will always stay with me.

I've never heard of Fear Effect , there were alot of great games , infact some of the greatest franchises in gaming history started on that platform like Metal Gear Solid, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Silent Hill and many more But my favourite franchise started on PS2 which is God of War, that's why I like the system

I wish people would stop calling the PlayStation the PSX. The PSX is a completely different system. Yeah, or PS1. IIRC PS1 was the smaller version of the original PS. Maybe it was just me.

Hahaahaha. :| The PS2 had more great exclusives released in 2 or 3 months then the entire XBOX1 line up... PS2 > PS1, the obvious reason would be because it can play PS1 games anyways, but it has dozens of awesome exclusives anyway, it was the natural evolution of the PS1 and continued to have all the same kinds of games.

Yeah, I love me some Spyro. yeah, i remember when insomniac/ND did spyro/crash. most fun ever. and then stupid Sierra, who can't make good games if their lives depended on it. i hope Sierra doesn't buy ratchet/jak or resistance/uncharted.

They killed Spyro, did you know Spyro Enter the Dragonfly is one of the worst games I've played in my 21 years of life, there are worse games, but that was inexcusable, the game wasn't even finished, it's buggy and glitchy.
Matters what kind of games you like, to me at least Ps2 has superior jrpgs/tactical rpgs and is still releasing them. So I prefer the ps2 over the ps1 any day.
