Hello everyone. I'm planning to get a new game system. I already have a PS2, but I would like to get a seventh gen. system. I was planning to get a Wii, but after reading the opinions of some members, I am reconsidering. Please post a response. What is your opinion of the Wii? And your thoughts on XBOX 360? Those are the two I am deciding between. Thanks everyone. Any help is greatly appreciated. (And please explain your choice.)

I know I didn't mention PS3, but when I looked at the reviews for the games I want, it seemed like the 360 versions got higher ratings than the PS3 versions. And there are a few games that are available on 360, and not available at all on PS3. No offense to anyone. This was just an observation.

You can't go wrong with any of the 3 consoles IMO.

Wii has great games but the last few months was lacking but 2009 looks very promising.

360 has great games out now but IMO next year is lacking but that is because those games don't interest me but it has alot of games that are out now.

Here's what you should do. You should make a list of every single game you want for each platform. Then, just pick which list looks better to you. It's simple, but it works great.

I have been looking a lot of stuff up recently.I have read that the Wii is kind of a fad and neither its graphics nor its games are not up to the standards of either PS3 or 360.

That's what I have been trying to do, but I've been getting so confused. Do you have any thoughts about the problems I have heard about with the 360? People say their 360s overheat or just die. This is so frustrating.

Well, unless you're a big fan of Nintendo's games (Zelda, Mario etc.) it's pretty hard to recommend a Wii.

Then between the 360 and the PS3, I personally prefer the 360's game lineup, but that's my opinion, and many people disagree with it. Ultimately, you're going to have to make the final decision here, because you'll hear a lot of disagreement on this board.

Edit: About the overheating, well, you're going to hear a lot of disagreement about that too. A lot of people say it happens to one in three 360's, some say it doesn't exist anymore. I'm not exactly sure, but to me it isn't a big enough deal to avoid buying it.

i think u should get a 360. it has great games available, good graphics. wii just doesn't have any good games. most of the games usually get aroun a 7 or so. not a lot of great games that people want to play. my friend has a wii he doesn't even touch it. got it at launch hasn't touched it around spring of last year.

I do LOVE Zelda. I was raised on NES and 64, so pretty much all I knew was Zelda and Mario. Now, however, I have seen and am interested in many other games, some of which are only on 360. I also love Bond and Resident Evil. I played Perfect Dark on 64, and Perfect Dark Zero is only on 360. Fable II is another game I like that isn't on PS3 (yet).

Well, Fable 2 will never be on the PS3, because it was published by Microsoft. Again, I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but this is probably going to come down to what looks best to you. If you like Nintendo's games, then you probably won't be disappointed with any of the three consoles. So good luck choosing, and I hope you enjoy whatever you end up getting. :)

Does anyone know why I keep getting this message?

  1. Errors:
    1. - You have encountered a forbidden .html error, and have may used one or more of the forbidden words while trying to include a link in your message. There are certain words, including '**** and '****, that we do not allow while creating links in your messages because they are a doorway into several js exploits. Unfortunately, if you should have words that have '**** in them (e.g., ****fy, ****c, etc), they will also be forbidden. We are looking to find the best solution for this problem, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
    2. - Your HTML is not well-formed - no valid tags were found.

Well, going by that list, it seems like the 360 is your best bet.

Oh, it's just Gamespot being glitchy, don't worry about it. For the first error, you can't use the words clas$ or $tyle (except, with an s of course). For the second one, well, make sure there aren't two spaces in a row. That message is annoying as anything.

You can't use the words Cl ass and St yle

I also don't know why you get that error I always get that error.

The reason you can't use those words are because they are used in Javascript. you have to break the words up sometimes it works without breaking them up but other times it doesn't.

You can't go wrong with both. but to start i would reccomend 360 and Wii as a secondary console down the road

God of War I and II, Dark Cloud I and II, Kingdom hearts, Tomb Raider, Mercenaries, The Godfather, and the Final Fantasy series.

I briefly played Tomb Raider: Anniversary and liked it. I own Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, have played it quite a bit, and liked it. Now that I have a break from school, I'm able to look online and examine the games and the ratings people have given them.

After looking at all of the different categories of games, I think my favorite is action adventure, but with a fair amount of combat/fighting/shooting thrown in. And I like a certain kind of graphics. For some reason, I prefer the brighter, more cartoony graphics. I guess that's just me being a girl.

Yeah I saw that God of War III is only on PS3. Do you know why? That's not cool.
