Looking forward to it. i was reading neogaf demo impression thread. and thier opinion are mixed. they like exploration, atmosphere, level design but say combat is not good.

Depends on what you mean by terrible. To me, it's okay, nothing to brag about.

The demo for the game is super fucking dull, but I still bought it.

Because with no due respect, I feel like a lot of immersive sims start boring. Bioshock which I guess has immersive sim principles, albeit a dumbed down one, benefits from having a punchier story opening than most games like these, and I'd still say what you actually play isn't all that compelling either, and the stuff I didn't like about the gameplay in Prey's demo could just as easily be a product of poor balance that's offset once you start getting new powers/new abilities/more options.

Which is the whole point of what makes the best immersive sim type games: Thief 2, System Shock 2, and something like Human Revolution so satisfying.

Now none of these excuses why the game feel is so stiff n wooden, as Human Revolution has good game feel and Dishonored's combat is instantly satisfying, but I am willing to write off how boring the demo is with "meh maybe the game just starts dull and opens up more". Plus it was like 30 bucks on scumbag ass cdkeys, so I said **** it. At the least I'm curious enough to see an Arkane game even if it came out a hot mess.

Interesting. It does look a bit slow-burn, though. I hope it gets more interesting later on in the full game.

That said, I do like how they brought along System Shock 2's game, character progression and inventory systems without stripping it down like BioShock did.

Exactly. This is more System Shock than Bioshock.

Agreed. I really wish this was just a sequel to the old Prey game.

Also, who watches this super-long gameplay video crap? I wonder how many people just watch the entire game before they play it. It would make some sense in a multiplayer game....

Alien design is garbage but I enjoyed the demo. The intro was great, and the soundtrack is pretty dope. The enemy encounter music needs fixed though, really annoying

Gameplay looks very slow, look around for notepads/computers to read. Reminds of dishonored in some way, UI/meny.

Yeah Bioshocks start is really slow, I mean apart from that submarine sinking to Rapture, I really had to bite through... I restarted Bioshock like 5 times before I finally made it past a few hours and finished it (and loved it)

Also, I'm more willing to give games a chance if they are cheaper (on grey area/scumbag sites) than their full retail 60 euro price.

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 > would've never paid full price > bought it for 27 euro > ended up loving it

Dawn of War 3 > would've never paid full price > bought it for 32 euro > ended up loving it

Loved the demo, Dishonored 2 was pretty disappointing but from what I played in the demo of Prey it could be the next Doom 2016 (as in an amazing fps). My only grip is holy **** that "in combat"/enemy tone/music is annoying AF.

I can't understand why they didn't put out the demo too on Steam. Makes me skeptical of the upcoming PC version. It might be unoptimized crap.

The demo was solid. I look forward to the full game.

Keeping an eye out for this game. Looks interesting but for me, it depends on how well it holds the mood and I would like to be scared if possible. What's that object?? Shoot it just in case!!

Never thought this game would EVER come out. But i'm legitimately hyped now. I actually think it's going to be very good, if not excellent.

Keep hearing/reading mixed impressions from the demo... sounds like it's going to be one of those "you either really like it or hate it" kind of games.

They should rename the game to "Not Prey" would be more accurate. I haven't seen something intentionally named to be confusing this bad since the Wii-U.

Immersive Sims aren't for everyone. I'm very glad they still make games in this genre even though it clearly doesn't appeal to everyone. If people didn't take the occasional risk in niche genres all we'd get is generic action shooters and cinematic "games".

It looks more like Deus Ex than Prey. It still looks great though, but I'm not really interested in this game at all.

Combat looks a little lame, but it might be okay. With no PC demo, I'm definitely not buying it until it's a bit cheaper.

I like the setting and sci-fi horror vibe, plus Arkane gave us Dishonored which I loved. I've got other games to play now though so I will get it after a while on a deal preferably.

Played the demo. Convinced me to buy it, if the PC version is gonna be good.

It's some good shit, but man is it a pain to play on a gamepad.

Operating terminals and keypads and shooting those fast motherfuckers with a thumbstick is just ugh.

Mack claim its going to be best game since Half life 2. he is over exaggerated. I mean i am looking forward to this game but come on. it wont even be best FPS since Half life 2 because it cant be better than STALKER, Crysis, Metro, FEAR, Doom... Impossible.

what its going to be. arkane game. excellent level design and experience, good gameplay, terrible art and graphics and ugly looking characters.

While personalities like Mark Brown and TotalBiscuit are largely disgusting pseudo-intellectuals preaching to disgusting pseudo-intellectuals, Mac is very much a grass roots, one of the people. The type of man who's touched a women successfully (probably multiple times) while regularly taking trips to a working class pubs with the stench of Guinness.

Sadly, our hero of the story recommended Ghost Recon: Wildlands, even though it had all the attributes he so strenuously argued against.

That cannot go unnoticed.

All those little objectives are disheartening. "Put on your space suit." "Go to the roof and get on the helicopter."

Sigh. Back to video games holding your hand in a post breath of the wild world.

@Bread_or_Decide: I take it that is just the start of the game; a little direction on the initial setup. At least that is what I am hoping. This does, after all come from Arkane Studios who have a history with titles in the immersive sim genre with titles like Thief and Deux Ex.

This design paradigm is the very flavor in what made Breath of the Wild such a tasty sandbox. :)

Using inventory through controller is also pain in the ass. Hopefully Mouse Keyboard controls will be good.

I really hope the game does not flop when the reviews start to come out.
