Assuming an eventual PS5 Pro and an upgraded version of the Xbox Series X come in time for the Holidays of 2023, how much more powerful do you think they will be?

Probably 20 teraflops.
This will be good for raytracing at higher resolution and whatever resolution techniques they decide to use.
Hmm. I like the question.
Probably roughly similar to this gen's jump from base to Pro/X.
Faster SSD, much more powerful RayTracing capabilities. Maybe even dynamic upscaled 8K.
As far as specific specs go? I'll think about it more.
Definitely faster bandwidth and more RAM at least.
Is this just a one off question or is this a deeper problem with our culture that people are already looking for the next next thing before we even get the next thing?
Are we so conditioned to want and consume that we don't actually appreciate anything?
I hope they don't bother. the pro and X1X were pretty pointless. they both sold pretty poorly too last i heard and they have done the PS5 and XSX no favours.
but they probably still will....for 8K tellys. those are coming i think.
As for the specs. well i am assuming they will target 8K (so that will be 4K actual with lots of post processing/TAA/checkerboard rendering and so on. maybe 3240P for some games with lots of post process upscaling?).
So basically the same CPU as the XSX/PS5 and a big bump in the GPU. if AMD have their equivalent of tensor cores ready to go they will probably be added too for DLSS of some sort (assuming devs haven't found another trick for getting a similar result using some of the compute capacity of RDNA2).
24GB of ram..GDDR7 based probably.
Same SSD setup (no need to upgrade that really).

Yes, we are. As designed.
On-topic: Couldn't care less, I would buy a mid-gen upgrade. I didn't upgrade my base PS4 to a PRO. The games still look and play great.
@shellcase86: I prefer the delayed gratification of waiting a whole gen for something new. It makes the jump seem that much greater.
But sadly I don't have any interest in the new consoles. It might the first time since ps2 that I didn't buy one at launch.

Don't think so. There's not much capital or investment needed to talk about simple what ifs like this.
@rzxv04: That's fair. Just curious why the question would even be asked. But as I've stated, I hate mid-gen refreshes so hearing this so far from it even a possibility got me hot and thinking.
PS5 Pro: 14TF same CPU, RAM and SSD...... $400
XBox Series Elite: 20TF, upgraded CPU, upgraded RAM, but same SSD......$500
Sony prefers to be underpowered and over charge.
