@jun_aka_pekto: no go on the screenshots - looks like the PSOne emulator on the PS3 doesn't support it. Well, anyway, Diablo looks fine in person
Oh well. You tried. Anyway, if the PS3 is set to 480p, there is no restriction on the video stream. Here is a sample of Killzone 3 I recorded via DVD recorder. ;)
Money is hard to earn in Clear Sky even with firefights and looting bodies. Stingy a** traders. Probably well over half of my time is spent just making ends meet.
Now that I finished all 4 StALKER games that have storylines, I feel more comfortable navigating around Call of Chernobyl. But, I still think the version of The Zone in CoC is the most dangerous outside of the Misery mods.
I really have to look places over with the binoculars. Damn snipers. Headed for the hornet's nest (aka Limansk).
So much for the hornet's nest. A blowout and psi-emission killed most of the Monolith bad guys at Limansk because they were caught in the open both times.
Last time I was here, the Monolith nearly wiped out the Merc contingent. I really like the dynamic flow of the game because no two scenarios are the same.
@xantufrog: Lost mine yonks ago. Thank gollys for Steam. Although Pandora Tomorrow isn't being sold on any digital services. Some weird ass reason with GPU's.
Roaming the anomaly-ridden landscape of The Zone. I like the huge anomaly landmarks in CoP/CoC (plus a few in CS) better. But, the small scattered ones in the other STALKER games are okay too.
Replaying some missions in Clear Sky. I would normally be playing Lost Alpha. But, the Extended Pack package had a bug which rendered the adjusted psi-helmet useless in Radar. Plus, Lost Alpha with Extended Pack was bogging down much earlier than without Extended Pack. So..... reinstall time and start over.
Anyway, Clear Sky doesn't seem that bad nowadays. Clearing out zombies from Yantar.
Decided to give Doom 3 a go since I only ever played it previously on an Xbox, which was obviously severely downgraded from the PC version.
I understand why this game got a mixed reception from Doom fans, it really is nothing like the original Doom, or Doom 2016, but it's more to my taste. I like how you aren't a superhuman demon killing machine, you're just an average Joe more or less, and I like the atmosphere and the horror elements. The audio logs and emails you pick up also give you an interesting insight into the day to day operations of the Mars base, and it's unsettling how they get increasingly macabre as the game progresses.
Also been playing some Subnautica. I'm not usually a fan of these Survival games, but this game is just awesome.
Just bought God Of War as it's in the sale....... Easily surpasses Horizon:ZD as the best looking console game and it's checkerboard implementation is the best I've seen and a perfect example of why next generation shouldn't focus on native 4k.

We do love our snow...... and what's better then interactive snow? Fighting a robot T-Rex in interactive snow :P
It's been awhile since I done one of these and I'm trying to take pics in-games as much as I and so finally, I can share my own gaming pics to SW family:
I wish the command keys for STALKER: Lost Alpha DC were better documented. I accidentally pressed the - key on the numeric keypad and the UI disappeared. I thought it was a glitch. ;) then, I pressed the + key and the UI reappeared.
Then Strelok is dreaming. In his dream, he's Gordon Streeman. ;) I think this is Lab X14.
Dezoware seemed to take perverse pleasure in making the game extremely annoying to the player, often tossing out any semblance of common sense just to make things tedious. An example is setting off an emission right when I'm about to teleport elsewhere. An impending emission will stop all teleportation. Unfortunately, there is no shelter near enough. So, time to pop a grenade....and toss it at my feet.
Then, the game crashed during Lab X10 which is why I'm posting here right now.

I think the PS3 Killzone games started the snow obsession (mostly footprints). At least, the first snow screenshots I've seen were from those games.
Anyway, Finally made it to the Chernobyl Outskirts. This is my second playthrough. One thing I hate about Lost Alpha is the increasing amounts of cutscenes as the end of the game gets nearer. Grrr.
Cutscene from Lab X7:
Once done with the mission, it's shopping time. I like shopping in the STALKER games. It's like shopping for candy. ;)
Too bad Lost Alpha's engine is based on Shadow of Chernobyl and not Call of Pripyat. The latter's inventory and UI is way superior. This one still requires a different screen for making loadout adjustments and the other functions. In CoP, they combined loadout adjustments with the other functions. So, I do everything on that one screen. But, this one's still better than say, Metro or Far Cry where I need to navigate to 2 or 3 different screens just to change a silencer (must be a console thing)....Just that one function takes up the whole screen.
The one in Call of Pripyat is so much better. The pertinent info for the item was placed in floating boxes, allowing better use of the middle space.
This is like it's made for little kiddie hands in comparison. ;) Niiiice big things to click at. The silencer is on the next screen.
Yea, I know. I always grumble about interface in other games after playing a STALKER game.

I forgot how good the sky could look in STALKER with the sky texture mods!

It's Lost Alpha Developer's Cut v1.4005 vanilla. Looks okay and there are sunny days once in a while. I haven't applied mods. I just used the Gamma, Contrast, and Brightness sliders. ;)
@PernicioEnigma: Awesome. DOOM 3 is extremely underrated as it's fucking awesome. Graphics, atmosphere, level design, monster design. Mostly everything about it is great.
I'm also playing Subnautica, but stopped as I didn't really understand what to do. Not sure how to get that deep. Do I need to build a shitload of pipes, or should I build a new base or what? Haven't had the energy to google it yet.
Sure, once there were fixes to my gripes. It took a while though. I think now the retail releases are presentable enough except maybe Shadow of Chernobyl. It still has annoyances.
The fan-made ones, Call of Chernobyl and Lost Alpha I can excuse for their flaws because they’re both free.
Geez. Some of the maps in STALKER: Lost Alpha are huge. Take the Pripyat Sewers, for example. It starts with the Lost Hospital map from Clear Sky. Then, it's followed by the huge underground depot (I call it the maze) that's 2.5 levels thick. I don't even know which STALKER game it came from. Then, there's the Dome (and everything in it) from Jupiter Underground in Call of Pripyat.
During my last playthrough, I found a dandy artifact called Fungus. I've turned the sewers upside down looking for one. No such luck this time. The game really is dynamic.....buggy too. The ShoC engine really sucks even when somebody else uses it. ;) Should've used CoP's instead. Look at Call of Chernobyl. I'm probably better off playing CoC than Lost Alpha.
Actually, I backtracked out of the Pripyat Sewers after I emptied it of mutants and zombies. I guess I'm wrong. The map isn't a point of no return. Anyway, I went artifact hunting at Radar and mopped up any remaining Monolith. Then teleported to the Outskirts for repairs and rearming. Went back to the Pripyat Sewers, cleared out respawned mutants (mostly a bunch of snorks and a few zombies).
I failed to help keep the military squad alive. Oh well. Not my fault they couldn't stay alive long enough for me to get there. ;) I'm pretty much jaded by the silly things Dezoware put in the game.
At least, I'm in Pripyat proper. Looks like some night action coming up. The only way to really play the STALKER games is when it's night time in the game except when hunting for artifacts.
I just remembered the - key turns off the UI. ;) I also need to lower my FOV a bit. Looks distorted.
