About 3/4ths into Darksiders. The story doesn't really do much but I do find some of the characters such as Ulthane and Watcher entertaining. Watcher being voiced by Mark Hamill makes him especially more enjoyable.
Almost done with Darksiders, the later boss fights are punishing if you try to rush em which really made start to time more instead of just mashing the attack and dodge button.
Just finished Darksiders, it was a pretty good game. Definitely gonna play Darksiders 2 and later Darksiders 3 when it is cheap enough.
@princessgomez92: Why is it so ugly? Is this the Switch version?
It's the Switch version you are looking at. I own Hellblade on PC already but seeing PrincessGomez92 posting pics is making me want to relay that game again in high ultra settings now. I'll probably post some of my own Hellblade pics tonight.
@Litchie: @davillain-:
Eh, I may also be easily impressed seeing more demanding games like this run on much weaker hardware. I was really impressed with Doom and Wolfenstein on Switch. I value portability and being able to play anywhere a lot more than prettier visuals.
@princessgomez92: And I too love my Switch portability. It's the only reason why I really love the way Nintendo did with the Switch in the first place. Playing Hellblade on the go is a nice bonus. Glad you are enjoying it :)
The way Hellblade runs on Switch, it proof that Witcher 3 can also run it if the rumors are true Witcher 3 will be on PC.
@davillain-: @Litchie:
Must be some kind of compression going on or something. I think the max resolution of screenshots is 720p too.
Playing Hellblade portable is pretty awesome, especially with headphones. Trying to play it docked with headphones is a little awkward. Really glad I got it, and I should continue playing it if I can put down Skyrim on Switch lol. I'd be very interested in seeing Witcher 3 running on the Switch.
@Litchie:
It's the Switch and it looks great.
Well, that's in the eye of the beholder. :P I'm used to see this game on PC. Compared to that and the other consoles, the Switch version's textures looks like oatmeal.
I saw the PS4 and Switch comparisons on my 15.6in laptop and thought the Switch version looked fairly good and hardly able to tell a difference. Then I watched it again on my 49in TV and I thought "Good god what is that fugly thing!". Yep definitely better to play Switch games on a smaller screen. Can't imagine playing any game that aims for high end realistic graphics artistically on the Switch.
AnywayI played and finished Little Nightmares last night. I had the no idea how short the game was. I'd give it a 5/10 because the controls are too damn clunky. It's almost as if the devs didn't play the game because god those were some unacceptable controls. I almost believe they purposely left them like that to make people die more in order to pad out the game's length. Having to hold the grab button is such a pain in the ass too. My finger was getting cramp having to hold it all the time.
@NoodleFighter: Huh. I thought the controls were fine, mostly. Slightly clunky maybe, but I enjoyed the game. But yeah, it's too expensive for how long it is, imo. I'd give it a 6 or 7/10 or something.
Inside, however, is a similar game that's awesome. It was over a bit too quickly as well, but it's really cool. If you haven't played it, I highly recommend.
AC Unity in my view Ubisoft best looking game of this generation so far can't get over how gorgeous this game is.
@Litchie: Most of the negative reviews on Steam are about or mention the controls being clunky so it definitely is a problem. If not for the controls and being very short and costing a lot I'd give the game a 7/10. I also heard that Limbo is a similar game. I've had that game sitting in my library for years untouched. I should get around to it.
Had an interesting couple of encounters in Warframe. Ran into the The Grustrag Three, then a Shadow Stalker and later The Wolf Of Saturn Six in the span of two days. Sucks that I didn't have Octavia for that encountered, could have easily taken him and the refugees out with mallet.
@princessgomez92: How far are you in Warframe? I did and completed the Second Dream Quest today and wow was it amazing! Nearly everything before this quest now feels like a tutorial preparing you for it and future quest. The twist was even bigger than what I was expecting. It answers and opens up so many questions that really make me want to dig deep into Warframe lore even if it will spoil upcoming quest. I can completely see why the Warframe community has a rule about not spoiling The Second Dream quest.
@NoodleFighter:
I'm still only a noob lol, only played about 9 hours so far. I still only got the two starting Warframes and some basic weapons. I made some new weapons from blueprints, which I'm excited to try later.
@princessgomez92: I see you have Mag, what other Warframe do you have? As you progress more into the game there are quests and junctions that will reward you with parts to build Warframes. If you ever get any platinum don't but a Nyx, Chroma, or Limbo frame as obtaining the parts for those frames is incredibly easy. I made the mistake of buying a Chroma because I didn't know that as you progress through the game you get parts to build a Chroma as rewards for completing junctions on Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. The Limbo Theorem Quest will give you a Limbo and parts to build a Nyx can be easily be obtained by doing multiple runs of the phorid assassination mission which can be found when a Infested invasion takes over an assassination mission on a planet so keep an eye out for those.
If you haven't already start building and using warframe specters. They are very useful when you're going solo or your team needs more fire power or needing certain abilities. Equip your specter with the most powerful weapon unmodded you have that isn't a charge type (mods don't apply to specters and they undo charge if an enemy dies instead of just shooting another with it) because they have unlimited ammo and no reload so they'll mow down most enemies in their sight. You can make your specter your other warframe if you need its abilities or just want some variety in attacks. I mostly use a trinity specter so it can give me a steady supply of health and energy which allows me to go more wild and die a lot less when soloing.
A lot of people make the noob mistake of not using specters. Myself included so many missions failed that could have been avoided if I had specter with me for backup.
@NoodleFighter:
Turns out I only have the Mag, thought I had Excalibur too. Oh nice. I recall hearing you could obtain everything without paying real money or something like that. I don't know if I'll ever buy platinum. I haven't tried getting any new Warframes yet, I'm liking the Mag.
I haven't started building any specters either. I think I'll have to work on getting one, sounds like it would help a lot since I just want to play solo right now. Thanks for the tips, I still got a lot to learn.
@princessgomez92: Just about everything that isn't a cosmetic can be built or traded for. You don't have to buy platinum with real money either, me and tons of other people farm for items and mods and trade them for platinum. As daily rewards they give you discounts on the Warframe store sometimes which you can use to buy platinum with. Highest discount they'll give is 75% which you could use that discount on a $5 or $10 platinum pack and get a bunch of plat for dirt cheap. You may even want to spend some of that platinum on warframe slots and weapon slots so you can store more Warframes and weapons.
You can buy a blueprint for the vapor specter in the gear store with credits when selecting gear to add to your loadout or just go to the marketplace store and look for it under gear. Specters will be very handy for you since you're very early in the game and don't have a kubrow or sentinel for a companion and you want to solo.
Anyway was playing the Warframe quest The War Within and man is it awesome! Also did a run on the boss Vay Hek and finally got all the parts I need to build an Oberon. I want to get back into Monster Hunter World but I can't seem to put this game down.
@NoodleFighter:
I was curious if you could get platinum in-game without paying real money, and there's my answer. Cool you can do that. I did buy a couple of weapon slots because I didn't have room for the weapons I made, didn't realize I'd have to do that. I don't know if I'll ever get super hardcore into the game or anything though, probably just play it more casual.
Oh nice, I'll look in that. That should be a big help, thanks.
Nice screens. Looks really nice.
@princessgomez92: @uninspiredcup: Warframe isn't as technically advanced/high end as Destiny 2 and Anthem but it manages to hold its own in the graphics department because of their art direction. Even on the Nintendo Switch the game doesn't look bad. Definitely explains why its one of the most played games on Steam, it's somewhat of a potato game with really good art direction so it doesn't seem like a potato game at all.
Warframe is good for some casual fun too plus progressing slower means you'll have more future content to enjoy without burning through everything quickly and then having to wait a year for a major story quest. There is PvP but no one except the most absolute hardcore do it and you'll likely be facing players with powerful endgame mods.
Anyway I managed to get back into Monster Hunter World since it's going to be a while till I can do a major quest again in Warframe. The new high res textures are nice and hardly impacts my performance. I switched from Gunlance to Kinsect Glaive and man is it an awesome weapon. I wish I used it sooner. You become an attack helicopter with that thing. Once you launch yourself into the air and are able to land hits on monsters you stay in the air for as you keep hitting them until you run out of stamina and you can far enough away from the monster after the assault to recover with no risk of immediate close range damage. I'm using a paralysis and poison combo and it helps hunts go by much quicker and easier to solo with. Riding monsters like its a rodeo show is also really fun too.
Been playing a bunch of Mortal Kombat 11 on Switch. I'm enjoying it, played a bunch of story and done a couple towers. It actually looks pretty decent during gameplay and runs pretty well, but the Krypt looks like complete shit. I thought textures were still loading in, but nope, they're actually that blurry and low res.
I'm playing MK11 as well so far I like the story so much more then 10 easily also the Krypt is super addicting but I'm not buying any microstractions ever.
