@Enragedhydra: What is the game in the second screenshot?
Just finished Gears Of War 4. It was alright, the final boss was somewhat disappointing, I found the Swarmaks to be more of a challenge than it.
@Enragedhydra: I knew it looked familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. I almost guessed that it was Splinter Cell. Anyway never played either of those series. Need to get around to it.
Playing Gears Of War 4 got me in the mood for third person shooters other than Warframe. So I started playing Rise Of The Tomb Raider and The Division which I got from a Humble Bundle. I tried to make my Division character look like Al Simmons/Spawn. The Division looks great, Ubisoft shouldn't have gone out of their way to show off a graphically more advance version only to downgrade to what we have now it just makes the release version look bad in comparison. I'm not even running with everything on/maxed out it's mostly a mix of high and medium yet it looks great.
Doing random quest to find Rathian clues. I slayed a Pukei-pukei but a Rathalos came in the area soon as it died and wouldn't leave so I had to leave the expedition without collecting my loot >_<
@Litchie: To be honest I rarely use the slinger because I don't know the purpose of things you shoot with it outside of stones being used to lure a monster away. Everything I shot at a monster seemed to have no effect and only did 5 damage so I hardly use it. The game throws so much information at you all at once that I either forgot things or just didn't bother with them until I couldn't get by without. For example my dumb self didn't eat any meals before going on a hunt because I couldn't figure out the canteen and oven and assumed that you get more health and stamina when you level up/get better equipment because other players didn't die in as so few hits as me. So I ended up dying a lot sooner and as a result was more of a dead weight on a team using up all the faints. I went through at least 15 quest/expeditions doing this. This is embarrassing think I'll start reading the wiki to save myself from more unnecessary struggles.
Anyway was playing Rise Of The Tomb Raider last night. Switched from 4k to 1440p to get a solid 60fps. It seems in this game you team up with Jesus to kill bad guys. Really makes me wonder how religion works in their word since the first reboot game had you fighting a Japanese demi god or somethin.
Sekiro. Yesterday finally faced Lady Butterfly, it was surprisingly easy. After all I've read I was expecting it to be one of those epic fights but it went down very easily. But the game still kicks my butt regularly, just not with this specific fight.
@Enragedhydra: how is it?
It isn't bad, the new class is fun to play and with 9 new devotions it adds a lot to the game play.
It is $20 in my area, certainly a worthy pick up.
@NoodleFighter: You see the new high res texture pack coming out April 4th? Think I'm going to jump back into the game after that releases. Been meaning to get back into it.
@warmblur: Yeah, Mad Max is good shit. Great art direction and atmosphere. Some old shots from when i played it...
Great screenshots!!!

Yeah I saw them but I don't think the armor example they've shown looks good enough, I'd rather see see a texture comparison on the environment and monsters. I'm also wondering what kind of performance impact it will have the on the game.

You guys just reminded me that I own Mad Max. I think I'll play it once I'm through with Rise Of The Tomb Raider.
More Rise of The Tomb Raider shots. I have so far put in 16 hours into the game and I'm only 35% complete, dang I thought I was reaching near the end. Definitely getting my money's worth which was $12 anyway :P.
@warmblur: Good to see some love for Mad Max, one of those 6's that will probably end up as my favourite games this gen.
Just finished Rise Of The Tomb Raider it was alright, the game was basically Uncharted 2 with it's setting being very similar.
I was playing two versions of Warframe last night :P. The F2P multiplayer title and the singleplayer Resident Evil 4/Gears Of War hybrid. It was most likely for the best that Dark Sector be made instead of Warframe since the tech back then would hold the game back. Even though Digital Extremes disown Dark Sector and any connection to Warframe I like to think they're within the same universe/timeline with Hayden Tenno being the ancestral father to all Tenno in Warframe. It's so cool seeing many of the Warframe references and easter eggs inside the game. It appears that Hayden is turning into an Excalibur after being infected by a Nemesis Nyx with the technocyte virus. Haven't played The Second Dream of Warframe yet but I suspect a similar origin of the Warframes. I actually find the game somewhat scary. The dull dark graphics and music really set the atmosphere. Hearing enemies scream out in pain as you eviscerate them with the glaive is real eye opening. Hearing enemies scream in the background while being attacked by infected adds to atmosphere. I miss games from the mid to late 2000s the dull graphics and music really helped make games look more dark and gritty.
My only problems with this game so far is that it's a pretty bad PC port that was clearly built only with consoles in mind which is obvious in the fact that the PC version came out a year later and the only graphical options you have is resolution. The game was built for 4:3 resolutions and any wide resolutions stretch the game so you gotta modify some files to fix the vertical stretch and see the hud properly. I can only play the game in 1080p but it still looks alright on my 4k TV. There is this graphical glitch in the lower right side that I will try to fix later. This is pretty sad since Digital Extremes have a long history of developing for the PC by co-developing the Unreal games with Epic and being hired to port PC versions of other developer's games. The only other problem I have with this game is the controls being too stiff and floaty
Splinter Cell Blacklist on the Wii U gamepad. Dunno why it's so blurry in the screenshot, looks a lot better on the gamepad screen.
Almost done with Dark Sector, just 3 chapters left. The Jackal boss fight was infuriating because its rockets can instant kill you and being behind cover doesn't guarantee you protection. After dying for the 20th time I realized there was an RPG leaning on the crates near the Jackal when it first appears, didn't notice it because I immediately ran for cover in a different direction every time. Controlling the Jackal is really fun too bad that segment is incredibly short and you don't even get into a fight with another Jackal or giant mutant. It seems this game also has its own Ada Wong knockoff to XD. Also cool seeing the Nox used as a mini boss.
Dark sector there's a game that went completely overlooked.
I remember playing it for about 1 or 2 hours before I got to the conclusion that it's freaking terrible. :P
Just finished Dark Sector I'd give the game a 6/10 at best but even then I feel like I'm giving it that because of its connection to WarFrame. The plot was near non-existant with such an obvious plot twist of the Ada Wong knock off being the Nyx Nemesis. The main saving grace of the game was the glaive but it is also somewhat it's downside as the game practically forces to use it all the time so it's really pointless to invest in using a rifle or shotgun other than trying to converse ammo on your pistol and it takes way too long to switch between a primary weapon and a secondary + glaive. The black market is pointless too with the stats of the guns barely being different from one another. I just bought an automatic pistol and upgraded my AKS47. So yeah barely any weapon variety. There are sniper rifles in the game but you can't buy them and are only dropped by enemies in one segment of the game. Using the turret sucks because you can't zoom in and a lot of the times enemies somehow manage to flank you and kill you so you're better off not using it.
Hyping up Hayden wearing the complete Excalibur suit was pretty pointless if I still take the same amount of damage from enemies and don't have a quicker cooldown for abilities or even more abilities. Speaking of which the abilities are pretty underused and somewhat lame. I hardly use the ability to deflect because I can easily manage most encounters without it nor is even needed in boss fights. Even though some enemy projectiles do serious damage to me when I deflect them back at them it hardly does anything to them. Deflecting enemy bullets don't even hit back at them most of the time and soon as the force field wears off I'm very vulnerable to getting gunned down. Invisibility hardly has any use outside of trying to hide while recovering health. Not really good for flanking since enemies will automatically turn around soon as you become visible. There is only two obstacles in the game that need to you to turn invisible.
As I said earlier with controls being too stiff and floaty one of the biggest gripes is dodging and clinging to cover are both the same button. A lot of the times I'm just trying to dodge but I ended up clinging to something accidentally then I get shot or swarmed and kill because I can't break off from cover quick enough. Vaulting over cover is too slow and stiff you have to stop moving and wait for the button prompt.
Boss fights are pretty cheap with a lot of them having instant kill attacks. So they're more cheap than challenging. I got instant killed by the final boss even though it appears he did nothing at all and I weakened him to a downed state.
I picked up a lot of upgrades but most of them didn't do much. It was really clear that Digital Extreme didn't care much about this game and just wanted to get it out of the way so they can keep the lights on in their studio. I do feel like getting myself a glaive in Warframe though because the glaive and pistol combo is fun.
